Mediocre at best. Maybe I"m spoiled, but i love the typical, hole-in-the wall sort of Mexican places that serve large portions for good prices. This is NOT that sort of place. The food was more like Tex-Mex, e.g. no refried beans (pinto beans instead), and the portions were surprisingly small. My BFF and I are used to being able to split a plate at Mexican places since we're not big eaters, so we got the fajitas, but we both left hungry (at 11.99 for the fajitas). They use cheddar cheese (eww) on some stuff. The sour cream/pico de gallo/lettuce plate was tiny. We were not happy.

Great Live Music. We love the service at this El Chico Cafe! Best of all is the live music of Shelly Rann. That girl can write songs and sing! Great food, great music, great service, what more could we ask for. Shelly Rann at El Chico's Friday nights.

wonderful service/great portions & price. the service is personal and prompt,food is great,enchiladas are really good(Enchilada Wednesdays are The Deal,entertainment on Fridays is always fun!so are the margaritas!!!!

Excellent Tex-Mex, reasonable prices, good service. I'm a big fan of Tex-Mex, so I visit this El Chico about once a week. The food is always good, and I consistently get good service.

The Southwestern decor features bright colored walls and thick terracotta-tiled floors. Classic El Chico combinations, around since the company started in 1940, heap tamales, cheese enchiladas, and refried beans on one plate. Tex-Mex items represent tastes for fajitas, soft tacos, and enchiladas verde.

Over Charged. The ladies from my office ordered out lunch today for Cinco de Mayo. We were very disappointed in the amount of food we got for the price we paid. For an order of nachos with beef is $6.99. This came with only 6 chips with a small amount of beef. That comes to $1.17 per chip. That is ridiculous.
