Bad food that only gets worse!. I am amazed that this place stays open. I had not been for several years---too many other good places to go. However, a friend wanted to go to today, so I did. Bad choice. My friend ordered sweet and sour pork; the pork was inedible. It was so tough she could neither chew it nor break it apart. Someone (not our waitress whose attitude was completely unnecessary) brought my friend chow mein, which was not good. However, she could chew it! I had the kung pao tofu, which was quite bland. Most of the staff was quite nice, but the food was horrible. I will not go back, even if George Clooney wants to take me (don't have to worry about that!)
Looking for Great Chinese Food in Nashville?. My family has been dining at Chinatown since the 1990s. We eat there at least once a month. The food is always delicious--fresh ingredients and fantastic taste. The best hot and sour soup and egg rolls I have ever eaten. All meal items are reasonably priced. I don"t know what I enjoy most: the food or the staff. Everyone there is so friendly and they seem genuinely happy to see returning customers. Recent changes to the restaurant's decor have created a calming, relaxing atmosphere.
Best Chinese Food in Nashville. china Town has been the around since the 1980's and i had ate there since I was a little kid. The food at china town is always good and fresh. This is the only chinese restaurant I get my chinese craving for the last 30 years. Our entirely family eat here at least a couple time a week. Recent dining room re-decoration enhance the place a lot. The people there are extremely friendly and always provide great service. My family favorite is the sesame chicken.
Really Good Chinese Food. Very Good. Great service, priced correctly. I thought it was perfect fix for my random craving of Chinese Food
Best Chinese Takeout. I probably get chinese takeout from here every other week. Try the shrimp toast.
I drive 35 miles to eat here.
I drive 35 miles to eat at ChinaTown, my old boss turned me on to this wonderful chinese resturant. I have been going here since 1999. Always great service, wonderful portions and super atmosphere
I will be going here for many years to come.
Best Chinese Food. I lived in New York City for 13 years and have been living in San Francisco for nearly 18 years, and I've had all kinds of good and bad Chinese restaurant food over the years... was really floored by how good this place was. Best hot & sour soup I've had since a miserably cold and rainy day about 20 years ago in New York Chinatown. Three entrees ordered here have all been excellent... crisp, fresh broccoli, tender chicken, flavorful shrimp. All perfectly prepared. Will be a regular patron here for as long as I'm in Nashville.
Gets it Right-No matter the size of the group!!!!. So let me paint you this picture. I was trying to figure out what to eat on a Saturday afternoon when I was at work and I needed to place 14 specific picky orders. We were all very nervous about how the food would be and even more about whether this place could get this size order correct. Well, let me just tell you that the food was incredible, the service was promt, and the orders were all perfectly filled. It was an amazing Chinese experience and our whole floor of nurses vowed never to order from any other place. I would recommend it with the highest regard. Do yourself a favor and try this place!!!!!!!
Best Chinese in Nashville. Whether you have a little time or a lot of time this is the place to check out. The food is freshly cooked, the staff is friendly & courteous. Located in upscale Green Hills without the pricey menu. The service is fast!
Not good, not horrible, not going back..
The atmosphere was bland - a little run down looking, but clean. Food is priced higher than average so I expected it to be better than average. It wasn't. Too salty - an obvious use of MSG (why would anyone still use that in their food?!) which ruined the flavor of what *could* have been a good dinner. The staff was friendly.
As a huge fan of Asian cuisine and a fairly decent cook (thanks to a bookshelf full of Asian cookbooks) I have to say I was disappointed with Chinatown Restaurant. Nashville is swamped with bad Chinese food - while Chinatown isn't the worst it is mediocre.
For the money you're better off going to P.F. Changs, Mings or PeiWei.
