Absolutely the best.
Jeff Loring at Stitch It is the absolute best tailor I have ever encountered. Actually, I take back his title of tailor and I'll rename him "artist". I've never met someone who can fully understand exactly what I want within the first 30 seconds of my explanation. Nowadays, I go into Jeff, he already knows what I want, and I'm on my way within about 5 minutes. I am not exaggerating when I say that Jeff has his fingerprint on 90% of my closet. He has done every single one of my suits, ranging from a cheap suit from H&M to my costlier Versace and Gucci pieces, all of them done to the same degree of perfection. Jeff did a thick wool Burberry duffle coat last season for me and it fits unlike anything I've ever seen in a store. Trench coats, duffles, peacoats, double breasteds, EVERYTHING. Stitch It does it all. I am asked frequently about who I use as a tailor and I always refer Stitch It. Turn around time is great and service is always excellent.
And I want to say this: right when I found the page on here for Stitch It, I was shocked that the overall rating wasn't 5 stars across the board. I had to search to find a negative review and I want to address it. If you are going to complain about going to Stitch It because they charge more than a soccer mom with a sewing machine, what was your expectation? The prices are CLEARLY spelled out at the front of the store and are very reasonable when compared with other local tailors (I have been to many in my search for the perfect tailor).
Simply put, this is the best tailor you will find. Period.
WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE!. GREAT customer service! I am not from the Nashville area, and was in town for only the weekend. Unfortunately, I had a major wardrobe crisis and needed a quick alteration. After asking around, Stitch-It was popularly recommended. I took my dress in that needed to be altered on Thursday, and first thing Friday morning they called with it ready. The owner himself assisted me and was very helpful, patient, and cared about getting the dress to fit exactly how I wanted it. Not only were they fast, reasonably-priced, and very friendly, they did exceptional work! I highly suggest using Stitch-It for any alterations you may have!
The best in town !!!. The best results and service. I would never go any where else !!!
BEST Alterations in Nashville!. I used to take my clothes to another alterations shop, but was very disappointed in the quality of work. A close friend recommended Stitch It so I gave it a try. The staff was extremely friendly and were happy to give me an estimate before the work was completed. I was amazed at the quality of work for such a reasonable price. My clothes were finished in a very timely manner and I received a phone call to inform me my items were ready to be picked up. I will never go anywhere else, and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!
BEST SERVICE I EVER HAD!. I love this place! I'd recommend it to anyone! After having issues at my other alteration place of business for 10 +yrs. I went to stitch it alterations and it was impeccable work. I now go there and no where else. If it's complicated alterations to just simple ones there perfect for it. I've went from one or two favorite pair of jeans to all my jeans being my favorite, because after I get them alliterated at stitch it, the fit is perfect, like a glove! They are very respectable to me and actually take the time to listen to what your concerns are about the clothing! Great place!
Stitch-It, a recommendation for excellent work. I recently had a pair of shorts and a pair of designer jeans taken in for alterations. Not only did Stitch it complete my work in a very timely manner, but the alterations were dead on impeccable. The owner is the one who took care of me and did my fitting and he was very friendly and efficient. The jeans are now my favorite pants to wear to any event because they really do fit like a glove. I know now where to take my clothes in the future. A recommendation to anyone who wants excellent work done.
Stitch-It. I myself had taken clothing to this place, dresses, skirts, pants, jackets and much more. To only wear every piece of them perfectly to the way the dressed fall and jackets fit. Prices are alittle high than normal but wouldnt you pay that for work you know will be done right? i've also had the chance to meet some of the actual workers and they are all so sweet and im telling you thats a place i am not ashamed to say fixes my clothes. Why 5 stars because no matter how hard the piece of clothing may be they always manage to fix it and get it right and have it ready for the due date or earlier.
RIDICULOUS pricing, bad work. I went with a friend to Stitch It because she was getting some garments altered and said they did a good job. I decided I too could have a couple dresses hemmed. The dresses had ATTACHED slips and therefore the slips also needed to be hemmed. I also asked them to shorten the straps on the slips so my bra would not constantly show. They charged me $96, yes NINETY-SIX dollars to have these two dresses with attached slips hemmed. They shortened the slip straps so much that I no longer could fit into them and had to cut them out. I paid extra to have attached slips hemmed and they completely ruined them, wasting my money. The way they had re-attached the slips caused the dresses to bunch very strangely in the back, and they hemmed the dresses several inches shorter than what I had specified. I will never return here. The prices are absolutely outrageous, the wait time is ridiculous (2 weeks for simple hemming) and the staff is extremely rude to top it all off. REALLY? $96 FOR TWO DRESSES TO BE HEMMED IN TWO WEEKS? Get real.
Crazy pricing!.
I have had a number of things altered here in the past and had been pleased with the service. However, they seem to have achieved just enough success that they don't really care about customers anymore. I went to them with a pair of cotton slacks that needed to be hemmed. No fancy altering needed - just a straight out hem job. They told me it would take a week and cost $18. You've got to be kidding! When I told the girl I thought that was a little excessive, she told me I didn't have to leave them there. I took her up on her offer and found a much better deal.
I ended up driving a mile or two down the road to a dry cleaners and getting them hemmed, pressed, returned to me the same day, for $10.
The owner would do well to realize that the customer bringing in the inexpensive cotton pants for hemming today, may be the same customer that needs a wedding dress altered tomorrow. Blowing us off isn't good business.
The worst way I have ever been treated in a store..
My daughter and I took her prom dress to get hemmed and altered at Stitch it Alteration, which I have used before
The lady that took care of us was nice and friendly. She pinned the dress and took it to the back for pricing.
The owner came out with the dress and said that shortening the straps would be $40, hemming $60 and attaching the bra cups that be brought $16.
My daughter asked why $40 for shortening the straps ? The owner explained that they need to do it by hand and its time consuming. he asked if we would like him to recommend another place and I said no, mainly because we were pressed with time. At that point the owner started taking all the pins out and said that he does not feel comfortable fixing the dress. when I asked why he said because I question his prices. when he took the pins out of the bra cups I asked him to just leave them there. He asked if these were ours and I said yes. My daughter said: "we are not trying to steal your pads and he replied: "YOU NEVER KNOW". By then the store had a lot of customers and everyone was silent . We left for the last time. The owner is an arrogant man that is rude and snobby and its beyond me why would anyone ever want to go there when there is so much competition around
