Where did my happy hour go?. The Grill had the best happy hour in town (2 for 1 beers, wines, and cocktails all afternoon) and some of the nicest bartenders (loved you, Bev!). But last month the restaurant unexpectedly shut down!

RIP Green Hills Grill happy hour; you're sorely missed. With any luck, some other Nashville bar will pick up the slack.

Amazing to me that this place gets good reviews. I am amazed that this place gets good reviews! The service is fine, the atmosphere is fine, but folks, the food isn't very good!! Out of a group of four, not one of us like our meal! My salad contained shredded lettuce and a few hunks of beef (I think McDonalds has a better salad). Cracker Barrell has a better meatloaf then the one my husband received. It was very plain overpriced food. Many, many better places to go.

AWESOME food and service!. I never knew the "old" Green Hills Grille - so all I know is how much I love the current Green Hills Grille! My friends/family and I go here at least once a week, and we all LOVE it. The service is great, the atmosphere is sophisticated, but laid-back, and the food is wonderful! They have the best ribs in town - and their queso is amazing! And, they recently added a bunch of new menu items, and we've almost tried all of them, and they're all great! The last time were were there, there was a celebrity sitting 3 tables away (can't say who!) - but apparently that is a normal thing for the Green Hills Grille, because everyone respected their privacy and let them enjoy their meal. I will definitely be back - keep up the GREAT WORK!

This place keeps going down hill. I have been dining at GHG for years - old location, new location - even the Cool Springs location. It used to be outstanding - both food and service. Now - it stinks. Several of us met for a late brunch Sunday with some friends from out of town. The ladies all wanted to shop at the mall, so we thought this would be great. How very wrong. No one ever came to refill our drinks or see if wanted more (drinks) - only when the check was brought. We had two servers - a girl and a guy; both with serious attitude problems, both with very high opinions of themselves. I was so embarrassed to have raved about this place, and then took guests here - that I will never again return. Two of us ordered breakfast items; the rest had lunch/dinner food, and all but two of us had cold food. Do not waste your time here, go somewhere else. It was not always like this, but two friends said they went a few weeks ago, and had a bad meal; indigestion afterwards, with bad service to boot. Don't know where or when they went so wrong, but they did.

Bad food - bad service, spend your money elsewhere.

Yummy yummy!. The family and I visited the GHG for the first time about a week ago and we loved it! We made reservations and used the valet like other users have suggested. The food was wonderful and we had a great time. We'll definately be going back.

Still one of my favorites!. Four years in Nashville as a Vanderbilt student meant a lot of trips to GHG -- for birthdays, after a movie, when visitors came to town, or any other time I wanted a diverse offering of delicious dinners. The variety was great, each dish (and I tried a good portion of the menu!) well-prepared, the staff friendly, and the call-ahead policy a life-saver on busy weekends. I would encourage anyone in Nashville, native or not, to visit this great restaurant!

LOVE IT. I love this place. I'm not a vegaterian, but the have a tremendous Portobello mushroom sandwich, and they also have a salad that is great too, I have to ask for it specifically, I have them make it with Bibb lettuce and blue cheese vinegrete. The bread that they serve you is so-so. I like fluffy bread, and it is very stiff. But the butter is good.

Regular American Restaurant. If you want a steak, they have it. If you want chicken, they have it. If you want Salmon, they have it. The Green Hills Grille has the food you're used to with no surprises, which makes it a great comfort spot. The servers are friendly and the ambiance is nice for families. Parking is next to impossible on weekends, so plan on using the valet and save yourself the hassle.

Excellent Food Everytime. Green Hills Grille has changed location but not their top notch service and consistent quality food. They are now located by the Green Hills Cinema and their new pad is more open and almost looks like they have more space than their old spot by Noshville. Be sure to try ANY of the salads, as they are fresh and more than enough.

Nothing Special. Having visited Nashville this past weekend from Chicago, my wife and I are a little puzzled as to what all the positive buzz is about when it comes to this "family restaurant." While one review we read suggested that this would be a suitable place for a date, I would have to say that I disagree. This is nothing more than a very clean, friendly family restaurant with a seemingly well-stocked bar. The food was okay, but definitely nothing special. I could see why local citizens would rely on Green Hills Grille as a solid place to take a family for a nice meal. The service was efficient and very friendly, and the menu had variety. While Green Hills Grille is, by no means, a horrible restaurant, I've rated it as "average". I wouldn't suggest to take a date to a family restaurant, just as I would never consider any family restaurant as "upscale". If you are visiting from out of town, I would suggest either something traditional to the Nashville area, such as "Loveless Cafe" or "Jack's BBQ", as well as trendy spots, such as "Virago" or "Bound'ry".
