"A Taste Of The Northwest".
So.
The whole reason I went to Portland Brew in the first place... I liked the name. I am from Oregon, so I was hoping this place would make it feel a little more like home in Nashville. The coffee is delicious and it is such a cute little place. Portland Brew is somewhere I now frequent. It defiantly has a down to earth vibe and the staff is great.
Simple the Best. Spot on, the best coffee in Nashville. Period. To those who find it hard to park, leave the SUV parked at your over-inflated McMansion and walk or ride a bike to PBrew. Please tip the baristas. Your tips pay not only them, but all who work in the back making the delicious food and cleaning up after your latte spills.
best coffee!!. I have been to both locations many, many times and I love going there! I believe the person who left the last comment had an orange currant scone, which is my favorite. I love the taste of their coffee and everyone is so friendly. I have had to wait at the Murphy Rd. location, but never longer than a couple of minutes. This place is a great alternative to Starbucks because they've got character and the best coffee around. And you should have thier sandwiches!
big big dissapointment. Went to the new location on Murphy tonight for the first time. I arrived at 11pm, they close at 12- some places drop off in service and food quality this late at night, but a coffee shop should not. I got a "chocolate chip scone" and a cup of guatamaula- when i went to pour the half and half, it was empty. I went back to the counter for help, the guy was missing, waited for about 5 minutes, still nothing, in th meantime another man waited with me. 10 minutes later no half and half, the scone turned out to be raisin and awful, and the coffee was just terrible, serioulsy, i tried mcdonald's new coffee yesterday, and it was better. I will never return.
If you want a drink made by a real barista.... I went there this weekend and had one of the best espresso drinks I've ever had. It was one of the few coffee shops I've been to that had a real barista behind the counter. The drink was not only great-tasting but beautiful, too, with the finest microfoam on top and he made it a little "wet" just like I asked for. This is definitely a great destination for an espresso drink fanatic.
Spacious, student-friendly coffee shop near Belmont offers free wireless Internet access..
In Short
The row of private study alcoves lining the building's entire left side is the first hint that this popular neighborhood cafe caters largely to students. But comfortable seating out front and on the new outdoor patio provides excellent space to surf the Net while sipping on one of Portland Brew's myriad coffee blends. The menu also includes gourmet sandwiches, such as the cranberries and pesto-inspired Multnomah.
Another welcome addition to MetroWest. Great little coffee shop in an up-and-coming area of town. Awesome setup - large front room with big comfy chairs [and good people-watching] and smaller study rooms for those who need to get work done. The blueberry coffee alone has me sold on this place.
I want it all to myself. Please don't go to Portland Brew, I want to keep it all to myself! Big comfy couches, the best coffee in town served up by perma-friendly people, private "rooms" to share with friends or your book, computers, and free wireless internet access. Who could ask for more in a coffee shop? I mean, really? PS- If you're one of those lound, obnoxious people who ruin my PB experience, stay away.
Great Java @ 12 South. Every coffee nut should treat themselves to the great atmosphere and hospitality of Portland Brew on 12th Avenue South. Not to mention the awesome variety and quality of their fabulous brews. Try the "Kenya!"
Come back, Brews, come back.. Portland Brews is good, but when it was in Sylvan Park it was outstanding. It's move was unavoidable, but what seems unfortunate is that they have not been able to bring back their terrific breakfast fare. Coffee is still excellent. Atmosphere is somewhat improved (except for the ugly exterior), but where's the marvelous food they used to feed us? I used to wake up and look forward to driving out to Sylvan Park to eat; I wish I could dream the same about 12 South.
