Beware! They charged me $120 for doing nothing!
I scheduled service online, and they called to confirm the appointment twice. The tech came out and was at my home for 15 mins. The repairs that were needed were going to cost more then buying a washing machine, so I asked him what I owed him for coming out. I expected to pay something, but $120!!!!! This charge was not listed on their website, nor was I told about it when the appointment was confirmed! I guess I'm not going to be so trusting in the future and ask what the charges will be upfront.
Great Service!. I have never posted a review on citysearch before, but I just had to write and say how impressed I was with the customer service in the Service department at A-1. Dave came out to my house twice, both times at the beginning of his 2-hour window which seems to never happen anymore. He had to order parts for my refrigerator, so he was only able to give me a temporary fix. But only 2 days later he was back out with the part and did a great job fixing my refrigerator. He was very polite the whole time as my 2 small children ran around the house probably driving him crazy. :) I will definitely be calling them again in the future for any repairs I might need and plan to shop there when I'm in the market for some new appliances. I highly recommend them and want to give a special thanks to Dave for being so great!
They made things right!. I think in today's big-box, digital world, the concept of customer service and satisfaction is way too often forgotten. A-1 has made me think differently. They went out of their way, above and beyond to make things right. I received a personal call from the President of A-1 to fix a problem I had. You don't get that from the big-box chains. You don't get that from e-commerce. You get that from local retailers and local service providers that truly care about their customers. A-1 has proven to me they do truly care. That garners praise in my books.
I would never shop with them again.. I purchased a new dishwasher, and paid $125 to have it installed. in the installation process, the tech accidentally disconnected the garbage disposal. when I finally figured out what had happened, I called A1, and asked them to come fix it. They told me that it wasn't possible, that the tech said he hadn't touched the garbage disposal. I pulled the dishwasher out myself, and I was correct, he disconnected the garbage disposal. I wasted four hours dealing with this. I asked my person at A1 for the $125 back I paid for the installation, since I had to resinstall it myself. he said he'd talk with the manager, and get back to me. he never got back to me. As for the reply to Christine from the president of A1, I did contact A1, and they ignored me. you decide if you want to work with this company.

Also, thank you for always helping me buy my appliances......you are so honest and knowledgeable and I rely on you to tell me what to get. I really do like the Bosch and very glad that I bought that brand. I always recommend A-1 to friends and add your name too. See you next time!
really prompt. I just used A-1 Appliance for a dishwasher repair on a listing of mine and am extremely impressed! The service department was really prompt about returning my calls and they had people out within a day and here is the shocker; the service guys showed up when they said the would! They made very clear notes about the issue and also were great about calling and me with a price in advance so that I could make arrangements for payment easily. All in all, I can't say on price if they are the most inexpensive but their service and quality of technicians are excellent and in the long term that's worth a lot.
You save yourself a lot of headaches by staying away. This is an awful company. I was new to Nashville and paid for three different repairs in my home. They broke every single piece of equipment they worked on and refused to acknowledge it. A little problem with your equipment turns into a huge headache after they work on it. They exchange pieces that are working perfectly and in the process loose screws, damage other parts - I had no idea how bad it could be. After talking to some of my friends I was told that they do not let A1 into their home.
