Just called to make a reservation for 10 for Sunday at 12:30PM. Manager said no to the reservation, they would be too busy. Well, that's definitely 10 less he'll be busy with because we're going somewhere else!!! How Rude!!!

J.Alexander's Rest.. The food at this restaurant is the very very best in the entire city of Nashville.

The rattlesnake pasta is the best pasta dish I have ever had in my life.

The prime rib is outstanding.

The service is the best service I have ever had at any restaurant.

I give this location and the location on West End Ave a 5 star rating!

We now live in California and this restaurant is what I miss most about Nashville ,TN!!

Two Words I Don't Like...Expensive and Inedible. I agree with the review entitled "Rip Off!" because my recent experience with the J. Alexanders on White Bridge was a terrible experience. My husband and I thought we'd try to find a decent place to eat, because I have special dietary needs. I had only tried J Alexander's once before, and had a fairly good experience then, but it seems that the prices have gone up. If I want to pay $27 for Ahi Tuna Steak, I will go to Stony River or to the original Sperry's in Belle Meade, not to a place where my food was cold and the piece of Ahi I got was a gristly, $1.50 piece of fish bait; I was expecting sushi quality, but got this rubbery, flavorless yuck. Ahi should be cooked one way...rare, but when the waiter asked me how I'd like it cooked, I should have known that "rare" to them means that you will get a tough sear with medium through most of the cut and spots of rare fish that was not fresh. To give credit to our waiter, he at least had the decency to remove the charge from our ticket. My husband was disappointed in his cut of New York Strip, as well, and said he wouldn't be back, and that if he is going to pay that much for a steak, he would go back to Sperry's. After I got home from this train wreck, I spent the night retching. Such a disappointment! J Alexanders, here's a word of advice: if you expect to stay open in this economy, you need to switch to a vendor that won't sell you cat food!

Rip Off!. Want a rip-off? Dine at J. Alexander's. Direct quote from the manager at J. Alexander's tonight: "Yes, our prices go up when it gets dark outside." (After I tried to place a to go order for a cup of Chicken Pasta soup. The price went from $5 to $6 just because they are now on the dinner menu.) ABSURD!!!

They have just lost countless loyal customers because of this inconsideration, selfishness, and greediness!

Good Times at J Alexander's. I met with some friends for lunch I had not seen in some time. We wanted a place to not only enjoy a great meal, but a place we could relax and enjoy visiting without feeling we needed to move on so others could have a place to be served. This was a great dining experience and the service was excellent. We are already planning our next visit. Thank you so much for making our visit so comfortable and memorable. The food and service was exceptional!

I almost wish I could find 1 negative. I have been to J alexanders so many times ive lost count. I actually ONLY get the same meal every time I go (probably because im afraid if i get something different i wont like it and have a bad eating exp.) Of course they have to best spinach queso ive ever had. And i get the steak maui every time. Its not as expensive as most say (well, that is with what "I" get) and i dont get drinks from the bar because that does get expensive real quick. I cant stand paying 7-8 bucks for a small mixed drink. But for the food, its definatly a great place to go. Going tonight!

Consistently Excellent Meals. I love J Alexanders restaurant it is very consistent you can go to one in Atlanta or Nashville and you will have the same excellent meal. The prices are kind of high but you do seem to get alot for your money. I really enjoy the friendly staff and the ambience during the day is casual and well lit power lunch type crowd but at night can be romantic and casual or very dressy depending on your mood. They will make sure you are taken care of. I really like chain restaurants because they do have customer service in mind which it's a pretty simple concept actually. This is why they are successful in my mind.My favorite things on the menu are the Fish of the day over Israeli couscous and coleslaw, Chicken salad with feta, Spinach and queso and the fresh Guacamole is great too. My boyfriend loves the french dip. The rattlesnake pasta is amazing enough for 2 adults! There really isn't anything I would not eat off that menu. J Alexanders in my opinion is the best place in Nashville for a wonderful and delicious meal EVERY TIME.

Service Doesn't Come Cheap. J. Alexander's is the prototypical American cuisine with top notch service. That service comes with a price, no doubt. The food is good and a server will be at your ever beck and call in case your glass appears to be just short of full. It is for this reason that common entrees will certainly cost more than they should. Expect to pay ten bucks for a hamburger. On a more positive note, the cheesecake is nothing short of pure bliss. Even better, the dessert will serve two, HEARTY eaters. The Cheesecake Factory in Green Hills wishes it could make this cheesecake.

Great food, service and price.. My husband and I took our friends to dinner at J.Alexanders on a Saturday night and had a 10 minute wait, free parking, great food and excellent service. I had the Fish of the Day, Cod with couscous and my hubbie had a marvelous strip with fries. My friend had carrot cake that she could not stop raving about!!!

Food and service ideal.. Great food and great service. Menu offers variety and top quality. Perhaps best casual dining in Nashville. Portions are large and tasty, sauces, preparation, side dishes are outstanding. Every meal has been consistent and quality excellent. Severs always friendly and efficient.
