From pecan waffles to legendary hash browns, breakfast fare rules at this homey 24-hour chain restaurant--but don't miss the chili.. In Short
Since 1955, this Atlanta-based chain has welcomed an all-hours crowd of shift workers, suits, regulars and late-night partiers with comfy booths and an extensive menu of Southern-accented home-style grub. Waffles (pecan or regular) are the restaurant's most popular dish. Other breakfast favorites include porterhouse T-bone steak and eggs, country ham, and signature hash browns cooked seven ways, from smothered with onions to topped with chili or cheese. Another bargain is the bowl of chili, which comes topped with onions, ham and cheese.

Love the Waffle House. Waffle House is one of the best places in the south for breakfast (day or night!). I have never had a bad server or food of poor quality. The prices are very low, there is much variety, and they are open 24 hours to serve you whenever you need some cheesy eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, or a waffle.

Nostalgia and good food, too. We had this restaurant on our list due to the high Citysearch rating. It's accurate.

Looking not unlike a bargain version of IHOP, with space for maybe 50 people, we were dubious at first, but a warm greeting and hot food delivered lightning quick by employees who

clearly like people-and-their jobs dispelled any doubts.

Outstanding everything. The bacon was

done right. The coffee was hot and black and

the eggs done to perfection. Yeah, I know, it's

hard to ruin breakfast food, but everything was

just right. The prices were surprisingly low, too, but beware, all the potential extras add up.

We were impressed. This may not be Americana,

but it's darn close. Try one.
