The people in here are all nice. They are good company and they always have some interesting stories to share and their bartender is quick to respond.
Great Time!. We came to Nashville in January for vacation and spent Thursday evening at Tootsies. Yes, it was crowded but the music was fantastic. The Scott Collier band rocked that place. The bartenders and everyone in there was friendly. We never had to wait for a drink. I was expecting to pay alot for beer like in Vegas but was surprised that drinks were priced what I would normally pay at home. We can't wait to go back and party at Tootsies again! Nashville as a whole was a wonderful vacation destination!
Great Location, Fun Times. Whether you want to have a cold beer after a game or concert downtown or just hang out and listen to music, this is the spot. It is very convenient being on Broadway downtown. This is the real deal, a legend in Nashville.
Good place to take guests. We take our out of town guests here whenever they can. This place is well known all over, and the live music can be very good at times. It is close to the hockey games too so we can grab a beer after the weekend games. Parking is not easy, but you are downtown, so that is to be expected I guess.
TOO FULL!!! No room to breathe!!. First off, I love Broadway & the legend of Tootsie's... I have been in there before (not during nighttime activity) and it was so cool to see the inside! We went Saturday night and the doorman let us in and there was NO ROOM... we made our way to the second floor in hopes we would be able to have room, but no such luck! We were being shoved, stepped on, and it was enough to throw me into a major panic attack. (I do not have those very often, so it was bad!) The band sounded great but the place was too small for them to continue letting people in. You could not get to the bar without violently shoving people out of the way and that is not fun to me! I will go to Tootsie's again... but before a crowd arrives... It was a HUGE fire code violation, if anything happened we would have been trampled, killed, or severely hurt. Very disappointing!!
Best Saturday Afternoon in Years. I drove over 800 miles for an afternoon of spirited live country music and Jake Mauer and Kari his fiddler and band didn't disappoint. Went out of my way on a trip to Florida and had a ball. Bar was packed and EVERYONE had a great time. Place has history and is what Nashville and country music is all about. Will NEVER visit Nashville without a stop at Tootsie's, you feel like Willie and Patsy are there with you. And the Tootsie's Famous barbeque sandwich was also awesome.
Tootsie's is the place to be!. We too stopped in at Tootsies because of it's reputation. It can be a little shocking that it is so small and rundown, but if you are willing to appreciate it's history- you'll have a great time. We heard some great bands there, namely Jake Mauer and Joanna Smith. Both were excellent artists and knew how to put on a great show! On top of that though, they both had an amazing fiddle player. I believer her name was Kari Nelson. Wow. That girl can play and entertain a crowd.... when she started rocking out Devil went down to Georgia- the crowd literally doubled! We had a great time and stayed for the entire gig. Give the place a chance and enjoy the night out!
A Classic Nashville Spot. I love Tootsie's. It's totally a tourist stop, but I can't help but have a good time. The bartenders are really good and most are friendly. The upstairs has an outdoor area, which is small, but the only place smokers can be! Two floors, two bars, and two bands. Also, Tootsie's has no cover charge. If you can stand the crowd and the pricey drinks, it's definitely worthwhile. I live here and enjoy it very much. It's a great place to take out of town guests who may not be in touch with their "honkey tonk" side!
A Blast from the past.
I was priviliged to meet Tootsie, She was a grand lady. She treated you like you were her friend. She is missed by all that knew her. She put my records on her jukebox and my picture on the wall before anyone else did.
I thought a lot of her. The greats and the has beens and the never was, were her friends. She helped so many. I know she has a place in heaven and still serves that good chili and keeps order with that famous hat pin.
