A Venue All Bands Should Avoid.
Nashville is full of great venue's w/ambience and a friendly staff and full service bar. Nashville is also full of venues that aspiring artists can be heard, and be treated with at least a modicum of respect you would expect for showing up. However, you will NOT find either of these things at The End. They consistently start shows late, and consistently over book shows in an effort to keep audiences in the dank hole they call a club. I've played w/many a great band at The End, but have yet to have a good experience beyond the sound of my own music.
If you are a band looking to play Nashville, The 5Spot or The Basement would equal The End in capacity, and then far surpass it in every other way.
If you are a fan of a band playing there, beg them not to make you hang out there.
GREAT SMALL VENUE!. My first visit to "The End" was GREAT! The staff was friendly and quite knowledgeable... Multiple acts performed on the night I went and all were quite good although they were unknown to me... I recommend this bar/club to anyone who wants a great night out without any "frills"!
Konkrete Jungle Nashville, This place has it all!!! Best drum and bass (when Konkrete Jungle is there).
I was amazed at this place. It is a bit small. That being said i can move on.
I visited this place on the night of the first Konkrete Jungle Nashville show this is a company from NYC bringing the best and baddest of the dnb sound aka drum and bass aka jungle, to Nashville.
The End was the best place for them to have it due to the huge sound system and great stage.
This night was top notch.
I even saw a giant inflatable monkey make an appearance (this thing was at least 8 feet tall)
The next date planned for this is going to be
August 30th at 9pm
FREE admission!!!!!!!!!!! (only on august 30th)
The END = the best spot in Nashville
DO NOT PARK IN THE PAY LOT. DO NOT PARK IN THE PAY LOT next to Cafe Coco. We paid $5 to park there and got booted anyway. It happened to a couple of other cars that night, too. All of us paid. All of us got booted. All of us had to pay $50 to get the boot removed. I remember joking that we should have recorded ourselves on our cell phones putting money into the slot in case we got towed. We should have. I won't park there again, but if you do, generate your own record for paying. It's a racket. Don't park anywhere where they don't give you a receipt.
This unassuming alt-rock venue is one of the coolest dives in town..
In Short
This no-frills rock venue has long been a staple of the storied Elliston Place district. An impressive list has played here, from R.E.M. to the White Stripes, and the calendar boasts cutting-edge local and national talent. The squat purple building is off the main drag, in the shadow of the much larger Exit/In. Inside, the stage dominates half the room, with seating off to one side for the hipsters, slackers and old rockers who frequent.
The Best of Nashville. I wish Chicago had a bar with as much character as The End!! I've been to Nashville twice now and each time I come back I will be SURE to stop here regardless of who is playing!! It's small, it can get kinda noisy, they only serve beer...but that's the charm of it! Be sure to keep an eye out for Alt Country Night held once a month. Even if it's not your thing, it's a whole lot of fun!!!
IT WAS AWESOME. I went to The End on Saturday Jan. 22 for my first time and I thought that it was a PERFECT place for live music. The Faraday band was absolutley incredible. I would go back...but unfortunatly I live in North Carolina. I just wanted to let any and everybody know that if your in Nashville THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!
...some slammin' grooves. Right, last night was my first time at The End. Denali and The Weakerthans played, good stuff it 'twas. I was impressed and pleased by the "personal" attitude the venue carried. Good fun.
