This place is literally INFESTED with giant cockroaches. I've been there twice. The first time, we saw five of them scuttling around on the trees and on the floor. The second time, I felt a soft tickle moving down my leg as I stood at the bar. I turned to look... and saw a 1.5 inch cockroach CRAWLING ON MY LEG! I called over the bartender to let him know, and he shrugged at me and said "We're outside. There's nothing we can do about it." Excuse me? That's not an acceptable response to a health hazard like cockroaches. I'll be contacting the health department, but in the meantime STAY AWAY!
Greatest BBQ Wings....ever!!!.
I can't say enough great things about the food at Mojo Grill. I have had most items on their menu and everything is good. I usually get the Chipotle BBQ Wings, and in my opinion, the are the best ever! And they are even better with a great wheat beer, like a Pyramid.
The bar always seems busy and they have most any beer available. I say check it out!!!
BROADWAY BREWHOUSE MOJO GRILL. FIRST TIME FOR LUNCH GREAT FOOD SOMEWHAT SPICY, GOOD PORTIONS, REASONABLE PRICED, GREAT SELECTIONS OF BEER, WILL GO BACK AND TAKE A FEW FRIENDS AND WILL BE ON THE WEEKEND THIS TIME
I hate to say it....
I hate to say it, because I have been a regular at the Brewhouse (3-4 times per week for lunch/dinner/drinks) for months. I have brought NUMEROUS friends around there and gotten them hooked. I have always had great service! However, I accidentally left my cell phone there on a Saturday. I went back on Sunday morning and it wasn't there. No big deal, my own fault, right? Wrong. A friend of mine said he turned it in to the bouncer because he didn't know it was mine. So I called back and asked them if they could call the bouncer to see if he had placed it somewhere they hadn't checked, and they said they were going to call right away and get back to me that evening. Well, I called the next Monday evening to check because I hadn't heard and got yelled at for calling. Called Tuesday to check back, was told never to call again, and was hung up on. I am a very polite person, and never accused anyone of anything (just wanted to see if the bouncer had put it somewhere else). So I called back, said that I believe I was disconnected, was yelled at some more, and finally said I was filing a police report on their employee. About 5 minutes later (while on the phone with Metro), I get a call saying that the bouncer found my phone and had it at his house. A little suspicious, no?
Sadly, I will NEVER go back there again. I am absolutely APPALLED by the way I was treated. The same people who had given me great service before were absolutely beyond rude. And the knowledge that a BOUNCER would not turn in a missing cell phone, instead keeping it (perhaps to use or sell, thinking there was a SIM card he could remove - not the case, sorry) until I threaten, and begin to, file a police report? Wouldn't have thought this before, but the thought crossed my mind as the people got meaner and meaner. And unfortunately, it looks like this might have been the case...
Ditto Zavman comments. Right on Zavman! I do quite a bit of traveling and have frequented many bars over the years and the Brewhouse is my favorite by far. Jemma is a big part of the reason I continue to return during my Nashville visits. There are times I where I haven't been in town for months but when I pull up to the bar at the Brewhouse, Jemma will have my favorite beer in front of me before my butt hits the stool. She and the rest of the staff do not suffer fools gladly so if your obnoxious, can't hold your liquor or are just plain rude, I suggest trying a different establishment.
Uhhh...right....
...that last review reminds me of the first time I got drunk in public too. Service at the Brew? Kills. Especially when there are a bunch of low life college kids on twofer night who expect everything without throwing a tip to the bartenders. I still get my drink in a professional and timely manner. I think the only thing that bites about the brew are the people who don't get it. Especially when they go all premature postal because they can't handle themselves in a 'real' bar. I'm sure it's all much better at Bennigan's...
I have been taking drinks from Jemma and eating the screaming hot wings at the Brew for a long time. Good Food/Good People in a perfectly unassuming setting. When I read these 'amateur' review sites there's always some arrogant soul who writes scathingly about a joint that just don't deserve it. I would love to see what she would say about CBGB's in it's prime....
Get a friggin' life.
Worst Staff Ever!!!!!!.
To be fair, I went to this bar about five times before writing this review. I understand that sometimes you're just going to have a bad experience somewhere, however this is not the case here! This bar had the worst service of anywhere I've ever been! It's a big problem when the rudest people in the bar are the managers! I finally asked for a manager the fourth time we went in there and this rude girl named Gema? came over and treated us worse than the servers and bartenders who ignore everyone except their friends. I have no idea how this place even functions, when it's obvious that it's run by a bunch of bitchy highschool kids. I work in the service industry and understand a lot that goes on in a bar environment, but this place should think about re-staffing immediately! The only good thing I can say about the place is that their food is wonderful...if you're lucky enough to get served!
On the flip side of things, the reason I gave them a chance is because I'm a regular at the Brewhouse Downtown, which has great service. They recommended I try the midtown location because of atmosphere. I hated to tell them of my experience, but it's the truth!
They're good, if "good" is something you like.. From cold beer to great food to the nicest staff in Nashville, the midtown Broadway Brewhouse really takes care of you. I just wish they had underground parking so I wasn't worried that my boss would see my car there at 4:30 on a Wednesday....
no support for them, no support from me. I wouldnt support a local business that does not support the local Hockey team. i would not patronize a business that has no interest in giving back to the community
Good Food, good beer, bad service. This is a cool bar to hangout, drink, & eat......but don't expect to get prompt, friendly service! You don't even get a smile out of a few of the servers. It seems as though they dread being there. So if you can overlook that, you should enjoy your time. The cajun food tastes very authentic, & the beer selection is large.
