Don't miss this place! Great steaks and the host is the owner. Mike Kelly will stay out of your way, or he will share his family history with you. The entrees are all great, and the corn cake appetizers are out of this world.
Definitely the best bleu cheese stuffed filet I have ever had. Frank, our waiter was hilarious. My wife and I wanted to put him in our pocket and take him home with us. Good wine selection, not too expensive. Higher prices on the menu, but you get what you pay for. Blueberry cobbler for dessert....decadent.
We recently visited Jimmy Kelly's and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The service and ambiance was excellent; we were promptly seated next to a cozy fireplace and our drink orders arrived immediately. Our filets were prepared as requested and the entire meal was first class. We’re looking forward to dining with more clients and friends in this great atmosphere.
The waiter (Big John) was funny, cheerful and very helpful. His recommendations and opinions on the food were spot on. He was very happy to answer questions about this steak vs that steak, this appetizer vs that appetizer. He was there when we needed him and not when we didn't. This man clearly knows his craft very well.
They have the old house, the unique corn cakes, and better priced menus than the others. They've stayed $5-$10 behind the others. Very good food!
Service was unobtrusive and professional, probably some of the best I have had in Nashville (don't expect chatty waiters). The corn cakes were amazing as I had heard, and the appetizers weren't too terrible either. Entree's were alright, but certainly not the best you can get. Remember to stick to the Filet, its what they do best. Prices were cheap compared to some places (Flemings, Mortons for example), and the setting inside the old house was nice.
A few years ago I and my family went to Jimmy Kelly's in Nashville, Tn. My sister and myself still talk about how good the food was. I got the Ribeye- blackened yet pink in the middle. It's called Pittsburg style. Most other steak places don't even know what that is but Jimmy Kelly's sure does. It was one of the best steaks I have ever tasted in my life and I have eaten all over the U.S and I'm nearly 60 years old. It was closest thing to "Arthurs"(which used to be the best steak place in town before it closed) that I have ever had in Nashville.. Try it you'll like it.
Jimmy kelly's is located in a one hundred year old house in nashville's west end area. It is a beautiful old home. The service here was excellent. Our waiter was very entertaining, knowledgeable, and helpful. Very egar to please and serve. The food was good. The corn cakes and desert were excellent. I do recommend reservations. Everyone in our party of five enjoyed the food, service and restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant. You must have the warm brownie for dessert! It was amazing! Great place for special occasions or a nice dinner with family or friends.
I am a Nashville native and have been to Jimmy Kelly’s on more than one occasion. The service has always been top-notch and the food prepared well and to my expectations. The atmosphere really does complete the dining experience at Jimmy Kelly's. I am sure not everyone gets everything right all the time, but a restaurant does not stay in business at the level of Jimmy Kelly's for over seventy years providing consistently bad service.
They have a good key lime pie and a extraordinary blackberry cobbler served with ice cream. The reason I have gone back twice is because of the atmosphere and service. The restaurant is in a old house and the service is exemplary. They have a full bar and will make anything you like. They have rooms upstairs that are great for dinner party's or large groups.
