If this is Nashville's best I'm scared for you!. After reading reviews I was so anxious to try this place. I took the warning about the service and was expecting the worst. We arrived right before the rush, ready for a GREAT burger. We were glared at the entire time we were waiting for our food like we were taking up space and drinking water or something. The burger was NOT the best although maybe we do it better here in NV. I wished I had tried something else and really put them to a challenge. It was a real experience alright! WE laugh about it every time we think of this place...it is a REAL joke!

Best Hamburger. Best hamburger in town hands down. It's a little hard to get a table sometimes during lunch, but worth the wait.

Terrible. Burger is nothing special by any means. Five guys makes it much better and you won’t have to wait as long and it won’t be served cold! Staff was extremely rude, both the waitress and cashier. Will never go back here.

slow to get a table, tepid and old food. waited an hour for a table. no cornbread. only had enough turnip greens for one of us ( party of 5)

had meat and three.. meatloaf was cold, squash casserole was old and cold, broccoli was soooo tough and yellow. turnip greens were old and awful.

this really was one of the worst dining out experiences. bad food.

i've been to rotier's for many years.. grew up here.

it officially sucked this time.

Yum!. I love their cheese burger on french bread!! I've never had bad food there! It doesn't matter if it's lunch or dinner they are always packed! It is small and you are pretty much sitting on top of your neighbors, but the foods worth it!

Don't read unless you want to puke--seriously.. first of all-i'm never one to complain but they really need new tables/chairs. it's way to crammed for more than 2 people and even that's pushing it. with that said, i've never really had a beef with this place (no pun intended) until what happened the other day. Warning--what you are about to read is beyond disgusting and the incident was totally unacceptable... So, if you don't want to lose your lunch or if you don't want to lose your appetite, i would suggested not reading any further. the customer, who had ordered a salad, found a --and i quote--- "narly, nasty, big toenail" in his salad!!!!!!!! Yes, you read that right!!!! A toenail IN his salad!!!!!! He almost ate it. He complained-of course-and the manager confirmed that it was indeed a toenail, apologized and offered him a free malt. I assume the salad was free...???

R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!!! I will never ever ever eat there again unless they revamp and get a 100 health score!

The BEST burgers in Nashville. I've been going to Rotier's for over 20 years and I cannot think of a better all-around cheesburger in Nashville. Not because they put some "secret sauce" on it or have some magic seasoning or they weigh 2 lbs, but because they are perfect in their simplicity. They use excellent ingredients (good ground beef, quality american cheese, great pickles, etc.) and cook them perfectly. The most popular choice seems to be the cheesburger on French bread, but my personal favorite is the grilled cheesburger (the bread is grilled white bread slices) just because I don't want all the extra bread. I honestly don't understand some of these reviews, these people complaining that there's nothing special about the burgers. Well, all I can say is that if you want a big, gimmicky, chain cheeseburger, go to Fuddrucker's at 21st and West End.....Oh wait, I forgot, they WENT OUT OF BUSINESS!!

Best Burgers & Shakes in town!. What's WRONG with these people? Rotier's has a cheeseburger on french bread that is to DIE FOR!!! Others have told me that all the food at Rotier's is great but I can't get past this amazing burger. NO... there aren't any goofy sauces or "themed" burgers folks... this is a classic Nashville meat & three diner at it's best.

And the service has always been great in the 15 years I've been going there. Once several years ago - back when they didn't take ATM or credit cards I didn't have any cash on me and the guy at the counter (one of the owners) just told me to stop back when I was in the neighborhood to pay. They treat you like you were family here and at times you'd swear Mom was back at the grill.

Enjoy this fun spot!
