Buyer Beware. I agree with musiclove3. This place adds 20% gratuity if they "loose" your receipt. Make sure you look at your receipt when you leave. They made no effort to correct the issue and made it as if I did something wrong asking them to look into it.

WORST Music Venue in Nashville…NO AC. 12th & Porter actually deserves NEGATIVE stars. This is the email below in quotations that I sent to owner Justin Roddick of 12th & Porter last night in the concert room. Doors opened at 7:45pm and it was over at about 11:45pm, so we were packed into this small air tight room with seemingly no air conditioning or air flow...it was actually hard to breath after standing there for 1 and a half hours, let alone 4 hours. There did not even seem to be vents in the concert room.

"Subject: Turn on the ac, we're dying in here!!!!"

"So, there is no ac/ air flow at this venue, and people are probably going to pass out before Eisley goes on stage which is still an hour and a half away. It's practically 104 degrees in here...where is your air conditioning? We will not be back to this venue....very poorly managed...this is a health concern!!!!!"

That was my entire email last night. This is the owner's response below from Justin Roddick at in quotations...

"Who are you? Can't believe you sent such a nasty email to me. I don't deserve to be told that I am a like manager. I basically steak my back fixing something else at that place every day. This was the first really hot weekend and our air had a hard time keeping up. I just check out bar sales as its how we make money to fix thing that break and apparently no one was drinking last night. I could care less if you personally ever cone back. I keep 12th & porter going cause I love music and the people. Sometimes I do run into someone who has no respect for what it takes to run a venue and looks like today that person is you. You are not welcome back to my club without a very sincere apology."

"Justin

Sent from my Verizon Wireless Phone"

So this owner is obviously not willing to correct the problem, and doesn't care about the health of people who love music as well. This is a legitimate health concern for all the people who were there last night. It concerns me because we will have hotter days than yesterday in the future, and obviously the management will verbally attack anyone who brings up a legitimate concern.

A home for local rockers hoping to launch a national career.. In Short
When local rockers take a shot at the brass ring, they usually play their homecoming shows at 12th & Porter. The club isn't afraid to push the envelope with tributes to Led Zeppelin, Ziggy Stardust or "Rocky Horror Picture Show." For something less glittery, keep an eye out for popular local indie, alternative and R&B acts--especially when they're still local. A creative, dessert-centered martini list includes a Pomegranatini and a Wildberry cosmo.

one of my favorties. The place can be difficult when a show is going on, go anytime else and it's a breeze to get into. The food is without a doubt some of the best in Nashville.... Try the Pasta YaYa, it is unbelieveable. You can pay a LOT more and not get food half as good... for instance, the Pub of Love across the street costs about 4 times as much for food just as good at best, probably because it's the same cook staff (my guess.)

I love to go here, and always take friends on special occasions, or just to hang out and grab some excellent food.

Great menu, a little crowded. We went there last weekend, for a tow couple dinner, and I think there was an art show going on or something, but there were alot of trendy art-goers milling through the dining room, weaving in an out of the tables, while we were trying to eat. It was rather annoying, and louder than hell, but our waitress was AWESOME, and very accomodating. The food was great and the server made the experience positive. I will be there again. Try the filet with brown sauce.

The Obvious Alternative. 12th & Porter caters to a great crowd, a smooth drink, satisfying food, and the movinest, shakinest, music in town. A great choice for first time visitors who want to feel like seasoned locals. And an even better one for those who can savor it again and again.

SoulHitch has got me hooked!!. 12th & Porter is always a safe bet when it comes to great live music in Nashville- Intimate atmosphere with the best live sound in town. Last Night i saw a helluva live rock show when I caught local act SoulHitch at the 12th & Porter Playroom. Great feel and damn good songs that left me inspired and exhausted. Standing-room-only with a packed balcony (full of hot chics) added to the atmosphere and made the evening very enjoyable for everyone there. Frank the bartender definitely knows how to make a drink!! Good luck to SoulHitch, I know they'll go far!
