Excellent Starbucks store but very busy in the morning.
This is an excellent Starbucks store, but it is located directly across from Vanderbilt University, so it is very busy serving students and faculty in the morning. The staff is friendly and efficient. The coffee is good. They have a nice seating area that includes four armchairs around a fireplace. They also have a nice outside eating area. Parking can be a challenge -- especially in the morning. Overall, this is an excellent store, just be prepared for a line if you show up in the morning.

Seattle-based coffee chain lures caffeine addicts with upscale roasts, caramel frappuccinos, shaken iced teas and an extra shot of trendiness..
In Short
For many, getting their daily jolt of java has become a daily morning ritual, and the cardboard cup with its infamous green label is the close companion of every coffee aficionado. Busy baristas work seamlessly behind the bar, juggling orders for their strongly-brewed drips and signature hot and cool beverages. While providing a wide selection of coffee specialties, pastries and various coffee related goods, patrons are invited to settle down in comfy armchairs and enjoy their favorite brews amid the chatter of the laidback yet caffeinated crowd.

Evil Empire.
Somehow Starbucks has convinced the world that it makes good coffee. I don't get it! The coffee is aweful, the atmosphere isn't much better. Why do people like this place? This rating is like saying McDonald's has the second best hamburger in town. This place has no character, no soul. It's just mass merketed, mass produced junk. But maybe people like it because the evil empire has robbed them of their character and soul.

Starbucks sucks.
If you enjoy burnt coffee, go to Starbucks. Most reputable roasters would use these burnt beans for espresso. Starbucks is fine for a latte, mocha, or anything made with espresso. Just stay away from their regular coffee. Go to Bongo Java, Fido, or Sam & Zoe's.

StarBucks is a good but overexpensive coffee, and I find the best cup of coffee at Arby's it was full flavored with body. I really can't believe people are paying such outrageous prices for mud.

why don't they care.
I've heard lots of complaints about the way StarBucks brews their coffee too strongly...or is simply using a poor brewing method. I buy starbucks coffee, and brew lovely coffee at home, but to drink their brew....terrible!

It made the list??.
I suppose coming from the Pacific NW, I am too spoiled by good coffee. However, to give Starbucks any rating other than a mediocre 2 or 3 is giving too much credit to this chain of coffee houses. In all fairness, though - if you live in a city that's not known for great coffees, then Starbucks is probably the best you can hope for. Come to Portland or Seattle - sit down for a REAL cuppa.
