Disappointed with a few things. I am a big Marriott fan.... usually. I had to choose between this place and the Hilton (downtown) on a recent trip to Nashville for both business and pleasure. Since I had a rewards card with Marriott and was getting close a reward, i chose this property. Big mistake.

It is not walking distance to downtown. They do offer a free shuttle which was pretty easy to get to town on but getting picked up was a 20 min + wait.

The room was abnormally small even for an urban property... that is if you call Nashville urban. I stay at Marriotts regularly in the west (seattle, portland, SLC) and the rooms are larger.

Furniture in the room was worn. Chair was threadbare in places. I had to call to get a fridge sent up. It looked like they went to the university and borrowed one from a dorm room (dented, scratched and loud).

We felt nickel and dimed for everything even though I am a frequent stayer. Extra costs we paid were for bottled water, concierge lounge (which wasnt clean), 6.50 for a glass of jug wine in the concierge lounge, internet, parking etc etc.

If i was there just for business for say 2 nights, i would have stayed, but I brought my wife for a romantic, fun long weekend after my business was done. I went downtown to the Hilton, was immediately shown a room, encouraged to book online.

In sum, i saved 75 bucks a night, got a suite at the Hilton which was about twice as large AND scored free breakfast buffets every night.

If there is a choice, choose the Hilton.

A conveniently located hotel just eight miles from Nashville International Airport.. The Scene
Opened in 1995, this reasonably priced, eight-story hotel welcomes guests with a beautifully lit, well-appointed lobby awash in lots of greenery and alight with the presence of a friendly, efficient staff. The property is just one mile south of downtown and even closer to Baptist Hospital, Music Row and Vanderbilt University, all of which contribute to the eclectic, budget-minded clientele.

The Details
From sleeper sofas to cable TV, this hotel has a firm grasp on the standard amenity. Its Family Rooms are popular with folks with kids, its meeting rooms draw in business travelers, and both appreciate such little extras as the spa and a reasonably priced breakfast buffet.

For a Courtyard. This one seems a bit above average. Stayed here several times now. Great convenient location, close to restaurants, offices, and downtown. Staff is competent and gracious (one person actually remembered me, with a month between visits.) Not a glamourous place to stay, but for the price there are few better.

good nights sleep. This was a great value and a good nights sleep. Friendly staff checked me in early my flight arrived before designated checkin. The restaurant had a hot breakfast and the waffles are great! My room had a new mattress and new furniture overlooking the west end ave main drag. Got great service and was treated firstclass. I am a Marriott Rewards member because Marriotts are consistant and if I do have a problem they fix it. I highly recommend this Courtyard at Vanderbilt, the price is right!

Courtyard Very Convenient. Nice hotel for business and Vanderbilt Hospital visitors. I walked to Vanderbilt and did not have to fight for a parking spot on campus. Nice rate. clean room, they have a big exercise room too. I recommend.
