Not an awesome hotel, but a good value. I just returned from a stay here. The lobby and Arthur's (the upscale restaurant) are stunning, the staff was helpful & friendly, room furnishings are attractive, convenient downtown location plus a free shuttle service which will deliver/pick you up anywhere within a 2-3 mile radius.

This is, however, a place which seems to be operating on a shoestring budget: several large stains on my room's carpet, woodwork & hallway wallpaper was scuffed, no newstand/sundries shop or exercise facility, the small housekeeping staff meant my room wasn't attended to until late afternoon each day.

Take note that this *is* alongside a freight trainyard: while the noise was far less than you might think, light sleepers will want a room on the front side. The upper-story rooms (which I believe are all non-smoking) are nicer than those on the first 3 floors which are off the lobby and below it.

Hotel. The room was nice...nothing to write home about (510), the wallpaper was coming off in places, and there was a stain on ceiling. The "nice robe" that was in the room....seen better at K-mart. The inside of the hotel is nice...but the bar where we had drinks...the service was anything but good. Overall..I'd say the place is over priced & over rated. Plus there was a party in the lobby of college kids who were very loud till after 12.

romantic, with faults. This place still is the most romantic hotel in Nashville. Although it's kind of run down, my boyfriend and I spent a great weekend here. Made us feel like like we were in a different place in time. Maybe it was the room that looked over the lobby that gave us the feel. Whatever it was, this is still the place I can go to have romance at a reasonable price.

horrible. my wife and i wanted to get away for a romantic weekend and chose this dump. the lobby is the only nice thing about this hotel. the parking is horrendous, the room was musty and had mold all over the walls. we asked management for a different room and they offered a dehumidifier and this went buzz, thump, buzz, thump all night long. this place was as romantic as a ymca men's shelter with open bays.

Very nice hotel. What a fabulous place. The service was outstanding. The room was wonderful. Your not going to get the amenities of a 5 star hotel, but if you like unique, charming and elegant, you'll love this place. We will definitely stay there again.

Truly the best hotel in Nashville!. The most romantic and historic hotel in the city. we are having our wedding here and I could not ask for a more beautiful site, a better place fo my guests to stay or a friendlier group of people to plan it with!

Overpriced, uncomfortable. I booked this hotel because it was deemed most romantic. The hotel itself was beautiful, but the rooms looked like a cheap excuses for hotel rooms. The bed linens were thin and uncomfortable. I won't stay again.

Service With a Smile. I had the most wonderful experiences on my visit to Nashville, but they would have been less so if my hotel stay were not top of the line. Here I was met by one dedicated and knowledgeable employee after another and welcomed to the city just as we would do at my inns in Charleston, SC. It was a great place to unwind and a great place to start the day. The breakfast was hearty and delicious and the restaurant's fare was wonderful. All the staff made my stay special. And being a tour guide in one of the most historical cities in America, I was pleasantly satisfied with the decor and the accomodations.

Romantic interlude. Very nice place to get away, and not overly priced. Romantic, great fairly inexpensive breakfast buffet and nice suite with terry robes. I'd love to do it all again.....
