What People Are Saying About Beer Sellar

In Short – Located in the basement of Hooters, this underground watering hole packs in locals ranging from after-work suits to the college crowd. The impressive beer selection includes 50 drafts and 150 bottled beers, including popular suds from Belgium and Germany. Cigars are also available and it can get smoky. If you're hungry, load up on mini corn dogs, Cajun popcorn chicken and fried macaroni while listening to the bar's jukebox.

Great Bar

The Beer Sellar has a fun, laid-back atmosphere and a very large selection of beers. Great hang-out spot.
- Cons: Parking
Loud, if you want to talk

I love how this bar is 'hidden', keeps away all the tourists! Went on a Saturday- and was kinda disappointed of the crowd. It wasn't completly dead, but not crowded- but i just expected more. They have a Jukebox, which is a cool addition. Music is kind of loud if you're just sitting around and chatting, but it's not that bad. The beer is high. That's my only complaint. They make a KILER Singapore Sling, the best drink ever- i recommend everyone try it! I can see where it can very easily become a stand up bar, as there isn't really that much seating. Well- i guess it's sufficent, since there is a pool table in the middle of the floor.
I loved it there, and i'm gonna go back here soon.
Oh, the bar food is amazing!! They have these 'mini tacos' oh, they are great!! I LOVE THEM!
(Located under h00ters on Church street)
- Pros: Great Enviornment, Fast service, Friendly staff
- Cons: Loud music, High Beer
Excellent (slightly) hidden pub downtown

Some folks may just stumble upon the Beer Sellar due to its location, but it's well worth the stumble. the atmosphere is great. It has an authentic pub feel. The beer selection is fantastic, with plenty on tap and tons more bottled. The sandwiches are also great, and the trivia on Sunday nights is a blast. The music IS from a jukebox, so if you're not willing to put a couple bucks in there to pick your songs, then you can't complain. This is one of my favorite bars in Nashville, and definitely a stand out in the downtown tourist district.
- Pros: great beer selection, great jukebox, nice feel to the place, good bar food
- Cons: music can be a little loud if you're just hanging out, but it's not that much of a distraction.
GREAT ESCAPE

The Beer Sellar is a great alternative to the typical bars in downtown Nashville. It fills the niche between the posh and country scenes. Its small, rustic and is literally underground with a familiar musty smell. The beer selection is a highlight with 50+ on tap with more exotic options from the bottle. The atmosphere is cozy, relaxing with cordial and likable bar tenders and servers. With little live music, its a nice place to hold a conversation so often I begin or end my nights there. The drink specials are complicated but intriguing. Not known for its food this little watering hole is a joy to dive into if you are seeking the simple pleasures, quality brews and good people.
- Pros: Beer selection, Cellar atmosphere, Uniqueness
- Cons: Food, Odd happy hours

dont get me wrong, i love the beer selection. i love playing pool. i love playing foose ball and smoking cigarettes. but i also enjoying doing all these things while listening to good music. and by good i mean decent when im out since i cant actually choose what im listening to. well, the last two times ive been at the beer seller....the music has been absolutely terrible. considering i was drinking, while playing pool and was still able to notice how obnoxious the music was means something. i heard the same 3 doors down song three times in two hours. i also heard ashlee simpson (lame) (especially when played at a bar like the beer sellar) and the same pink floyd song at least twice (which is fine, when played...once). im just saying that something should be done about the music in the place. i expect to hear something good when i go to a bar like the beer seller and instead the music was worse than the stuff played on the radio. everything was on repeat.
- Pros: beer selection, pool tables
- Cons: no crowd, worst music selection ever, tool bag central
