I have lived in Madison for 5 years now and I eat at china bell often and have never experienced rude customer service towards me or anyone else. The food is always hot and fresh.
We will never go back! The worst cust. serv. ever!!!!!!!!!!! – I had done a search for my daughter and I to eat Chinese near my home. I searched online as i like to read reviews before eating somewhere. I came across this place and my daughter had told me that she and a friend had eaten there before and the little lady behind the counter was pleasant. I started reading the review to her which were all bad. They spoke of rude people and bad service. I told my daughter that i would rather not go there because i could only see me in an arguement with them. She convinced me that the food was good and begged to eat there. When we arrived there was a woman in front of us who had just placed her order and she left the bldg to return when the order was ready, we placed an order for about $30, no problem. We were handed a # on a piece of cardbord and we decided to wait in the restaurant. In walks the Mgr and he looked around, then went behind the counter. Next in walks the woman who had placed the order before me. She went to the reg. to pick up her order and was asked for the # on the cardbord paper. The woman explained she no longer had it but just paid with her cc and still had that. The worker proceeded to tell here that it was a 5.95 extra charge for losing the #. Of course she asked for the manager who started screaming at her and told her it was her fault and it was posted below the reg. that the # was a 5.95 add charge if you did not bring it back. They both screamed at each other, she said she was going to call the BBB, he said call whoever you want, call Obama, you are like a 4 yr old child and need to get an education. She screamed that she had a BS and would be back for her food, but did not curse. By that time one of the girls at the reg. walked out to me with my food , i told her about the reviews and how they should tell people when they give them a # to bring it back and she just said I'm sorry you had to see that. This was a lesson learned for my daughter. This showed her the worst possible case of bad customer service. She understands why this restaurant can never get our business again, no matter how the food taste. I give this place No Stars, but it requires 1
MANAGER RUDE!!! – My husband and I had two orders of fried rice today. Normally, the food is good, but this time the rice was gooey, clumpy and tasted funny. The carrots and peas were still crunchy. We called them and they said that they would remake it, but they did not say they were immediately remaking it. We assumed they meant that it would be remade when we got back to the restaurant with our bag and receipt. When we got there, which is a 30 minute drive from our house, it had been sitting out for over an hour and was cold. They refused to give us our money back or make it fresh, so I explained to the manager that I was not happy and wouldn't be coming back. He was rude and did not care whether he lost our business. DO NOT EAT HERE! The manager is greedy and does not care about people! This is the 2nd time we've had a problem here that they refused to fix, so we will never order from here again. Ever!
Since 1995 – I can not say China Bell has the best food compare to New York's or California's chinese. It has been in Madison Town for almost 15 years, which must have it own specialty. I have known China Bell for 4 years. I am a good customer in their Restaurant. I have seen many Bad, Cheat customers who were trying to Cheat for free food. I remember one Friday night. They were very busy. A lady who yelled so loud and said she wanted her money back. The manager refused because she ate most the food only left a few bit. She said She doesn't like it. In that moment I was thinking " why you finished eating the whole things and yet you said you don't like it? She must have problem on her taste sense". Finally, many people take advantage of "Satisfaction Guaranteed " Food can not be return! They should say " What ever you want Guaranteed".
China Bell employees are RUDE – My experience with China Bell was terrible! The OWNER of this restaurant in Madison, yelled at me and told me I was not giving him my order right. I told him I thought I was the Customer and he said basically "Big Deal" I'm the owner, you getting your order wrong"... When I told him I would take my business elsewhere, he said 'GOOD'. Do not waste your time if you want to be mistreated at this establishment. The food isn't that good for that kind of behavior.
Horrible! – I was EXTREMELY shocked at how rude the employee's were. I even give people the benefit of the doubt, "maybe it was a bad day for them" and so, I went back and the second time was WORSE!
The food isn't very good compared to other local chinese take out.
I can't say it enough RUDE, RUDE RUDE, HATEFUL staff.
The store isn't very clean either.
I would avoid this place.
I suggest CHINA WOK at the corner of Walton Ferry at Gallatin rd in Hendersonville. I've started driving the extra few miles. WELL WORTH IT!
Very Rude and Not That Good – We called in an order to this place, after driving out to pick it up about 7 or 8 miles we were greeted with a rude little lady at the counter. My wife left her ID in the car, just taking in our bank card, she was nasty asking about the ID but she did at least ask for it which we are great with for our protection. When my wife went back in with the ID and the card she confirmed the order, paid and then came back out for us to go to the house to eat. We got back to the house got the food out sat down to eat but when I bit into what was suppose to be crab rangoon wasn't, I think it was some type of pork. We called back up to the restaurant to explain that they had gotten our order wrong the lady on the phone was rude again and argued with us about it exclaiming that it was our fault the order was wrong and we would have to drive back up there for them to see it. We explained that we lived a little ways away and that we would just like it taken off our bill, no go to even ask. After driving back the little lady up front greeted us again with a very nasty attitude and said that she was the one that took the order arguing that she was right so we asked for the management, which then argued with us still. They did finally fix us what we ordered but offered no apology for all the rude behavior or the wrong order.
Absolutely amazing... – I really love this restaurant. It may not be the 5 star fancy place like PF Changs, but the food is cooked fresh to your order
humanbeing2008 – I lived in Madison for over 15 years, and they have the best food in Madison if not they wont be there even now! The price is very reasonable that is why they don't have fancy customer service. China Bell is a busy restaurant and they are the only one that deliver in Madison because other delivery closed down or moved away as the people in Madison are getting more nasty and ugly! They are a busy restaurant that is why they issue number tags for customer so that when their food is ready , they can be called upon! well, they are also very busy with delivery, and they don't open just to cater for only one customer!! everybody go by turn, even if you are only 1 minute away! What kinda customer service you expect for a meal consists of one entree, with fried rice and a free egg roll for $4.65!!?? try PF Chang if you want service and pay 20.00 for what you pay only 9.00 in China Bell!
Terrible customer service, bad food – If you like friendly people then this is not the place for you!!! I called and ordered for a delivery and it took over an hour to get to my house (I live 5 mins away!) and when I called to check on my food they said it was on its way. After 15 more mins I called again and the owner answered and I asked him about it. He said VERY rudely "I TOLD YOU IT WOULD TAKE AN HOUR!" I asked him nicely to not yell at me and that I am a paying customer and I didn't deserve to be talked down to like that. No one does! I hung up and the delivery guy arrived. I told him what his boss had said to me and he said he hears that all the time from customers and agreed that he was rude to people. I told him was never coming back. ( the delivery guy was very nice) After he left 10 minutes later the OWNER called and HARRASSED me and asked me what i told the deliv. guy and I just said I would not be back, he screamed back in the phone mocking me " OH YEA!!! I WAS HOPING YOU WOULD SAY THAT!!!!, HAHAHA" and hung up on me.
My food was dried up tasting and I have lost my appetite! I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place!!!! Extremely bad customer service and terrible food!!!!!
