We eat out frequently because of our busy schedules, and we enjoy being able to spend time together in a nice relaxing restaurant, eating great food. This Denny's used to be one of our favorite spots, we were always there for the kids eat free on tuesdays, and we usually came several other times a week after my oldest daughters sporting events. BUT, over the past few months, the service has be horrendous EVERY time we eat here. The food has taken as long as 50 minutes --- for 4 PEOPLE! We frequently get completely ignored by our server, if we even can figure out who our server is! the last time we ate here was the second week of January, 2010. We went in after my picking up my children, and my husband met me there. When he got there, we had already been in the building for over 20 minutes. We STILL did not have drinks, and all we had were adult menus, even though my girls are ages 5 and 11. That was bad enough, but then something far worse happened... we overheard 2 female servers talking LOUDLY behind the counter about their... sexual adventures. My 5 year old had no idea what they were saying, but my 11 year old most certainly understood. We were so angry, we left. I called the restaurant the next morning, hoping to alert the store's manager as to what happened. The general manager I spoke to, quite frankly sounded absolutely ignorant. When I explained to her what happened, she LAUGHED and then offered me FREE MEALS. For ONE, I don't think it was funny, and for TWO, no thanks, keep your food and your trashy servers! We will NEVER go back, and I don't recommend that you do either!
Known for its breakfasts, this diner chain slings all-American grub and bottomless cups of coffee..
In Short
With its kid-friendly vibe, booth seating and late-night hours (most stores are open 24 hours), Denny's draws night owls, seniors and families with kids. The menu sticks to classic American staples: wings, chicken strips, burgers, salads and the like. But breakfast is king, with specialties ranging from skillets, egg scrambles, French toast platters and several variations on the famous Grand Slam: two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, two bacon strips and two sausage links.
Great service. Yes there was a crowd and there was a wait. But you have to wonder if your 'always' able to get in with no trouble and there is never anyone sitting at a table close...does someone know something I don't. Excellent eats for the value
