Many finds to be had...
by JonCP
I've enjoyed patronizing this establishment. Some of the staff/dealers can be rather rude though. I would give it a try: it could be a diamond in the rough.
- Pros: You never know what you'll find
Over Priced items, extremely rude sales staff
by raoulp
I stopped by here a few days back to spend, spend, spend as I have made some good finds in the past. I had a camera with me and took a picture of an item. Completely unaware of a no photo policy, I took the picture in front of a staff member. Instead of polietly informing me of the policy, the woman began to rudely insist that I give her the camera. I told her that I was unaware of the policy, gave an apology but told her I was not leaving an $800 slr on the desk in a junk shop. This should have been the end of the story as I put the camera away but instead the woman turned and started telling another employee that she was going to call security. I took great offense to this as I was very polite and had already put the camera away. I told her that I was offended by her behavior to which she responded that I shouldn't be eavesdropping! Keep in mind she made the statement about calling security not even 10 feet away from me. I was going to leave at this point but we had driven 2 hours to get to this place and god knows, Frackville doesn't have much else to offer so we continued shopping for a bit until the "manager" approached me to tell me that I was not allowed to take pictures. The camera had been away for some time at this point and this step was just too much. I told him how rude his staff had been to me and how I had traveled for the sole purpose of spending money in this establishment. He began to quickly backpedal and sited "Homeland Security" concerns... basically accusing me of being a terror ist! The place is filthy, all the items are priced about 10% over ebay prices and the staff is just plain awful. Save your hard earned cash and go to Scranton's circle flea fair instead.
- Pros: Some rare items
- Cons: most sellers over price the items, staff rude
Huge collection of antiques and treasures
by Inky
This place is so big you could spend a day browsing at all the wonderful antiques and collectables. It is the Wal-Mart of antiques and odd treasures. They have all kinds of items no matter what your interest is you'll find something here. Store is clean and well orgainized but there is a ton of stuff so you need time to hunt. And the prices are unbelievable, most like a yard sale !
If you're in the Frackville area this place is worth a stop. Save plenty of time for browsing and you will leave with something, guaranteed.
- Pros: Huge
- Cons: Huge, need time to take it all in
