Fair, clean, equitable.
I disagree with others' reviews. I have rented from this husband/wife business twice now, and although they can come across as honest or blunt, which some may take as rude, I think you would have to
be somewhat like this to rent in a college town. We have found them to be fair and kind - they even invited us for thanksgiving dinner when they found out we had no family in the area (we had rented from them at this point for 5 months). Their buildings are older, but well kept up and clean. We have had no problems except for a roof leak, and when we called they dealt with it in one day. They certainly respect your privacy, but are very available if issues or questions arise. Upon moving out, we found them to be fair: we cleaned very well, and Mrs. Elliott asked us to come back to re-clean a couple areas, but we received our entire deposit back. I also think that a one-year lease is standard and reasonable - it's a business decision for them, too. If students want a shorter lease they can always live on campus.
Bottom line: fair price, clean apartments, equitable landlords. I highly recommend rending from Stan Elliott Real Estate, and will rent from them a third time if I ever move back to the area.…
Predatory Capitalist/Run, don't walk. This company is Stan Elliott and his spouse. Do NOT enter into a contract with these people. These bullies expect a one year lease for an amount of money that is likened unto a mortgage payment and they do not kick in any benefit for any utilities (garbage, water, electric, NOTHING) and expect the tenant to maintain the landscaping which clearly requires the work of a professional. There are invasive species throughout the property and roots and foliage growing from underneath the foundation. Also, the crawl space has no door and wild animals have taken up residence underneath the house. The predatory manner in which they force students into a one year lease agreement is unreasonable and interferes with the normal activities of a student's life. Stan and his wife use intimidation to confuse any possible course of conversation. I repeat, do not enter into a contract with these people…
