My Favorite Pizza
by zaphodB at Citysearch
My co-workers and I have been frequenting this place for about 6 years. We've had the pleasure of watching it grow from a tiny little family run joint to a much larger family run joint. They deserve everything they've achieved.
There pizza is, simply put, excellent. Their dough is some of the best I've ever had, and chews like a fine slice of quality authentic Italian bread. Their prices are outstandingly reasonable for the quality of the food, and although their servers are not flawless, they are kind and friendly and always treat us well.
Christos is one of those places I can always rely on to have a good meal, and I can feel confident taking a client, co-worker or friend. Keep up the good work guys!
No Wine for YOU!
by kelligrl at Citysearch
OK, first off my husband and I had our first three visits here, and on each visit, after being seated it took at least 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. We normally order wine first thing off, and then are given time to look over the menu. However, when the waitstaff finally came to our table, they wanted to jump right into taking our food order. This is not the protocol Christo's should follow. We thought maybe, just maybe it was a fluke. So, last night we took our friends there in hopes that maybe Christo's would have figured it all out. Nope. We were seated, and ignored for 10 minutes. Then the cute blonde tatted gal came to take our order. our FOOD order! This just blew my mind, again! I don't know, maybe this is how it is done in Italy? My friend's cheese cannelloni was almost (sorry to say) cold. We didn't dare say anything, because you know what they do when you send food back.......I wanted the cannellini salad, but was told they were out. Really, how difficult would it have been for a waitstaff to run to the market and get some beans and make more! Other than that, our other dishes were great. Also, we all screwed up and accidentally gave this waitress a 25.00 tip, on top of the 95.00 bill. That was our fault. So, all in all, Christo's is a good place for dinner, especially if you don't want wine or beer right when seated, and if you don't mind the flakey service.
Great Pizza and Ambience!!

Word of mouth brought us here and what a nice surprise. The feel and ambience was comfortable and inviting. The service was excellent and the food superb. Don't expect to pay for pizza like you would at your typical pizzeria, it is a bit more expensive, but the pizza is delicicious! I had to stop myself from eating too much. The drinks were excellent as well. If you're craving pizza and don't want to settle for the usual, this is the place to come. Their desserts were awesome as well. Will definitely return.
Excellent Pizza

Super place with great food! I highly recommend it. I'm bummed they don't have a website though. Otherwise, worth a stop to check out- you will soon fall in love with it and crave the pizza.
- Pros: Food, price, ambiance
- Cons: location, small place
My favorite place in Salem
by davidwendell at Citysearch
Come here once and it will soon become a destination. My wife and I stumbled accross this place a few years ago tucked away on a side street. Ever since then we make it a point to eat dinner or lunch there if we have time.
The food is fantastic. They know who they are and they do it well.
The setting is intimate and comfortable.
The people are quality west coast casual - classy and down to earth.
WARNING - Before you plan on visiting make sure that you know they are open. They are a small restaurant and are not slaves to the business. Good for them - but there have been a few times when my wife and I have been disappointed because they were closed.
- Pros: Food, Ambience, Service, and Value
- Cons: Limited times they are open.
