Outdated and Over Priced.
At first glance the inside looks like Grandma's favorite restaurant from 20 years ago. We sat down and looked at the menu that served a variety of seafood dished that appeared reasonably appetizing.
We ordered clam chowder, deep fried avocado and shrimp scampi. My wife and I decided to hold off on a glass of wine due to the price per glass being approximately equal to the price it would cost us at the store price per bottle.
The clam chowder was decent and fresh, but was overpowered by the excessive amount of rosemary floating in the soup. The avocado slices were an interesting choice, but after two slices we started to feel sick from the fat and oil. I believe the deep fried slices may have proved to be better severed in smaller chunks on a fresh salad with beefsteak tomatoes and fresh basil.
The main dish proved to be the most disappointing as the $23 dish of shrimp turned out tough. Nothing impressive about the flavor as we have prepared better at home. The rice pilaf served with the shrimp prooved to be devastatingly bland with a mushy texture. The steamed vegies that sat next to the pilaf were plain and ordinary as well.
Other than the food, the service was fine and view appealing. I would gladly sacrifice the view for good food any day. $50 has been spent better, where the food, service and ambiance are exceptional.…
Waitress was exceptional with kids!. Went to Cannon Beach for the weekend with the kids. Wayfarer was across the street from our resort so we thought we'd check it out for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Our waitress was top-notch. Seriously, some of the best service I think I've ever had while dining with children. We had two families of four with four young kids and we just dropped in. I don't know if all the wait-staff are like KaSandra (sp?), but if they are you are set for some great service! She was so attentive to our kids, she made it super easy to relax and enjoy the view of the beach. She brought them cheese and cracker plates with fresh fruit right away to keep them satisfied. After our great experience on Saturday morning we told her we'd probably be in on Sunday morning...get this, she had our table already set and ready for us when we got there. Eggs, hash-browns, fresh fruit and house made bread was good and the kids loved their bear pancakes with syrup and butter. Oh, and gotta love the local Sleepy Monk coffee - please keep pouring that! We WILL be back.…
Hostess from a dive, busser is a steer in a china shop, waiter is soooooo cheesy..
We went to dinner for our anniversary, what a let down! The menu didn't have much to offer,
the hostess looked like she came from dennys, the busser was like a steer in a chia shop, and the
waiter couldn't be more cheesy! The food was terrible, service was worse, and the atmosphere,
well if you like eating in the middle of the room, I don't, the Stephanie Inn should cut all ties with
this place! Even the dessert wasn't what they served at the Bite! Awful!…
Great service, excellent for occasions, cozy and romantic. My fiance and I went there to celebrate our engagement while in Cannon Beach. I am really picky about food and service, so we were a bit nervous going in. However, Wayferer was very impressive. The wait staff was fast and friendly, the food was great, and the atmosphere was relaxed but elegant. When we told them we were celebrating, they went out of their way to congratulate us regularly and we even got special plates at dinner, which made us laugh. Great wine list as well. And you must try the deserts. We had something called "a taste of heaven" that was terrfic. We will be going their again!…
