Okie's Restaurant

Pricey and not much food. I don't know if it's because they had just changed their menu this week or what but the catfish dinner (11.99) had 3 very small pieces of fish on it (oversalted on the breading), the smallest hushpuppies in the world (seriously, just one was about the size of about 3-4 peas) and some really store-bought tasting potato salad. The "sauce" was so thick that it just didn't taste good with the fish. Again, the sauce tasted store-bought.

The zucchini appetizer had about 1/2 a zucchini on it for $8.99. They were fried so long that they didn't have a delicate crunch when you bit down - they actually had a very hard crunch that was no appealing at all. I've made better at home.

My son got the chicken fingers dinner ($11.99) which came with 3 chicken fingers that were much bigger than my fish for sure but they were overcooked. Not much in the way of side dishes but he had a pretty decent sized portion of fries.

We've gotten the same dinner for 1/2 the price and bigger portions at other restaurants. Looks like we won't be going back.

Okie's is AMAZING!!!. We were treated like royalty: everything was delicious and served fast. Our waitress was super sweet, the place is spotlessly clean and the atmosphere is unmatched. There's no microwave cooking here: the food is made fresh and it shows. Leave Red Lobster alone and get over to Okie's: they will rock your socks off! It was like a mini-vacation and I'd go there again tomorrow if I could.…
