We saw Whales and Dolphins.. I took my eight-year-old grandson, five-year-old & seventeen-year-old granddaughters, and their mothers (two of my grown daughters) on a whale watching trip on Tuesday morning. We dressed in layered clothing, so we felt comfortable, even on the breezy ocean. The day was sunny, so we felt a little cold only part of the time. Anyway, about twenty minutes out we saw two humpback whales. We watched them for a while, then continued out where we were delighted to see hundreds of Pacific White-sided Dolphins. We all had a great time on the tour.

This is the second time I took this tour (the last time was about six years ago) and I recommend it. The captain apparently knows where to find the whales, though there is no guarantees, and the crewman and the naturalist were friendly and informative. The office is located near the end of the wharf.

We lunched at Isabella's Italian Seafood near the end of the wharf on their second floor which overlooks the bay and the marina. It was a postcard perfect view and we could hear and see the sea lions in the nearby water. My daughter's and I had scrumptious seafood salads and two of the grandchildren had generous seafood combo plates, while the little one had spaghetti. Guillermo, the waiter, was friendly, courteous, and attentive. I, likely, will go there again when I am at the wharf.
