What's the big deal?. After reading the reviews I decided to try it out. From the time we met with the Hostess to the time we left the restaurant the service was average at best. We had reservations and still had to wait for 20 minutes before we were sat. I don't understand why they take them. I also don't really know why it received initial "great" reviews. I considered the food just ok for what you pay. Besides the decent atmosphere and the view of the warf there isn't a whole lot going on here. If your in the area my recommendation would be to visit some of the better restaurants on Cannery Row or even in the down town area. If you don't mind waiting, the Monterey Fish House is another great option. Happy Dining!

A cut above the rest. This place has stayed steady with the food and the service has only been better each time i have been here. Fav place to entertain friends and family. Ask for the Banana Foster.

WORLD CLASS. We went in for dinner on the 2-4-6 @ 7.30. The seating was prompt and after taking the manager recommandation we ordered a bottle of Trimbach. From then our waiter took over in truely dining us. making suggestion at every point. Leading to our custom 5 crs meal. By the way best steaks in town with a view and service. Oyster rockerfeller and of course the Flambe ( such a lost art) was the icing on the cake. The concigerge @portola plaza was so right. The way they put the food down is a show in itself. I have only seen it in the best rest. in CA,NY and France.Keep up the good work.
