What People Are Saying About Chart House Restaurant - Monterey

In Short – Founded in 1961 in Colorado, Chart House now has more than 25 U.S. locations. The restaurants, many of which occupy historic buildings, draw on the local region's natural features, making each one unique. Fresh fish and seafood dominate the menu with offerings like jumbo lump crab cakes, mahi mahi and Australian lobster tail. For landlubbers, there's prime rib, filet mignon and N.Y. strip steak. Sweet finishes include hot chocolate lava cake and raspberry creme brulee.

This restaurant is my all-time favorite! It's busy for a reason! Make reservations and sit by the window.

Friendly efficient service staff with an outstanding menu and relaxing atmosphere create a memorable dining experience. The full bar, nice wine list and delicious salad bar are wonderful. Enjoy a tasty mixed seafood grill entr?ƒA?e, but do save room for a tasty dessert treat. Overall, a relaxing truly enjoyable dining experience. Cheers! Kim
Wondeful waterfront restaurant with one caution
by jamierich at Citysearch
All in all a great restaurant. But we were there in mid-May 2006 and had oysters that made us sick for three days. Now, in August I read in "US News and World Report" that has been a widespread problem up and down the West Coast this year... some sort of bacteria... and the FDA is warning people to be sure their Pacific oysters are cooked well done before eating them. Ours weren't. So, with that caution... I heartily endorse this Chart House location. The dining rooms overlooking Cannery Row and the waterfront are a wonderful place to enjoy and meal while watching the sun go down. The service and seafood is excellent and until those oysters caught up with us, it was one of the highlights of our visit to the area.
- Pros: Location, menu, service
- Cons: Parking lot is small. Like most Cannery Row restaurants, it's expensive
