Never again – I stayed in this hotel in July 2007 during my trip to Yosemite. There aren?t many lodging opportunities in Oakhurst, apparently that's why the hotel owners aren't eager to provide better service. The hotel was full, there were lots of foreign tourists. When I checked in I realized the AC was off in my room so it was impossible to relax after the road trip. It took several hours to cool down the room to the point I could actually stay in it, so we had to spend the evening outside. I mentioned at the lobby that I need the AC to be on tomorrow when I leave for a day, however this was not done. In the morning when I was about to leave to the park I tried to ask a service guy to leave the AC on after the room is done. But he didn?t understand a word. Oh well, I understand that they try to save money on everything, including labor. Perhaps their summer season profits are not enough.
Breakfast: the room is really small. It maybe OK for off-season but in the midst it turned out to be a catastrophe. The tiny room was filled with people trying to get something to eat. You could see little queues: one for coffee, another for waffle-maker. There was one elderly lady serving in the kitchen and she just couldn't keep up with the demand. Besides she apparently didn?t remember what food items needed refill. Coffee, hot water, milk, donuts disappeared really quickly. Well, if your hotel is full it means you're making good profit. Why don't you staff the kitchen better! The pool is tiny.
Later this summer I stayed in another Comfort Inn in Santa Monica. What a difference! I paid less and had no complaints at all. I will never stay in this hotel again and don't recommend it to anyone.
Clean, comfortable rooms – The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. Service was excellent, particularly considering that the hotel was short-staffed during our visit. Still, they met our needs quickly and with a friendly attitude. The prices were excellent, and we were all happy to stay here. I'll definitely factor this into our next Yosemite trip.
