In Short
In this subterranean refuge, a luxurious tapestry-bedecked room buzzes with contented folks enjoying healthy, inventive Italian fare. Glittering starlets and industry hot shots lounge beneath folk-art paintings and hanging lamps that emit a subdued light to ensure everyone looks gorgeous. Salads and soups rotate, reflecting seasonal specialties, but Pace's mythical California-style pizzas are the real draw; its sourdough crust narrowing to a razor thinness, studded with eclectic ingredients.

Although I have been here on separate occassions with my family, my aunt, etc, it is especially great for a date. The location is very unique, tucked under the old building up laural canyon. It is very romantic with dim lighting both inside and out, yet it maintains a fun LA feel with funky local art hanging on the walls and diverse yet casual customer base. O, and the food is great! the think wood fired pizzas are delicious and i am never disappointed by the pastas, and the specials are almost always a good choice. and don't forget their great tirimisu and delicous pre-order molten lava cake with ice cream and berries mmmm. prices are a little steep but if you are on a budget go for the atmosphere and wine and split a pizza or order appetizers. its worth it!
Pros: Ambience!!! delicious food
Cons: a little pricey, sometimes a wait

I am a newly-wed and I wanted to try this restaurant for our anniversary. I never even got to ordering. Their attitude was too awful! We were the only ones in the restaurant and they head waiter would not allow us to sit next to each other because that would take up more room. Then he reconsidered and told us we could but only if we were out within an hour and a half. I don't know who they think they are but for their prices I should have been able to sit next to my new husband. We left and went to Yamashiro's, by far much better service. Maybe thats why they have been in business over 80 years!
Pros: none
Cons: everything
