Nonsmoking rooms and a central downtown location are the draws at this small Mammoth inn.
Great Value and great location
by texanka1883
We booked late to make our trip to Yosemite this summer so we were limited to places on the east side of the park. Prime Yosemite locations were going for $130-$600 a night. So at $90 a night, we made up for the gas that we spent driving the extra hour every day. Mammoth Lakes is absolutely charming. Even in the off season there are restaurants, bars and things to do. After long hikes in Yosemite the hot tub was a welcome sight. We were always out too early to enjoy the continental breakfast, but we understood from other guests it was nice. The decor is mauve and forest green, very 80s, but the place is still in good condition and clean. The wet bar, fridge, microwave and dishes in our room made packing lunches and apres hike cocktails easy. Don't leave food in your cars...we had a run-in with a bear. No damage done, the police arrived before the bear got too curious.
- Pros: The least expensive for the vaule
- Cons: 1980's decor
