New York City-Albany stagecoach stop for hearty American eats..
In Short
A once popular stagecoach stop between New York City and Albany, Traphagen and the adjacent Beekman Arms Inn have been serving everyone from carriage riders to motorists since 1766. The menu matches contemporary comfort food with rich local ingredients. House favorites are as simple as fish-and-chips and an old-fashioned turkey potpie. It gets more refined, too: Braised lamb shank, slow roasted duckling and grilled mahi mahi round out the menu.
