Best Steakhouse in Hudson Valley.
The only real steakhouse in the area. I hear that they age their own meat. Prime T-bone and porterhouse are unbelievable! Lots of variety in the menu for those who aren't as carniverous. Fresh veggies available as sides. Desserts made on premises as well. Decor is classic- the restaurant is in a landmark 18th century building. Adjacent bar with music on weekends for a lively pre or post dinner experience. Be aware: bar is a cigar bar and therefore one of the only bars left in NY state that you can smoke in. You either love it or leave it- but it doesn't affect the restaurant.
40oz prime cut porterhouse w/ gtee of 28oz of beef! you don't even need any steak sauce or kepchup! the house w/ raspberry vinagriette & caesar salads were crisp & fresh, the steamed garlicky clams chewy but tasty, the garlicky bread crunchy & buttery. Overall an gorging experience. everyone takes home doggy bags. one criticism - the key lime dessert was terrible. they even have a cigar bar & lounge. SUMIT: if you are up in this neck of the woods I would recommend it to get your share of beef!
