Do not eat here ... you will get sick...!!.
I wrote a long review on this and it did not go through....I should write a review on City Search and their website...
Anyway, do not eat here. You will get sick.
Happened to me and my employees Six (6) times out of twelve (12) times. food is kept in an outdoor mouse house shed, food is pre-cooked and sits around WAY too long, Benny doe snot care about quality or service and neither do his employees.
I could go on and on. All I can say is do not eat here, you will get sick. AFter my entire office getting sick again on Benny's food...I decided to write this review.
I spoke to Benny, but he could care less.
If you do not get sick, you will get subpar quality food at the very least. The people who said the pizza is good have no clue. Soft, chewy, soggy crust, lousy tomato sauce, and off-tasting el-cheapo brand cheese do not make for a good pizza.
While the pizza is bad, NEVER eat any of the chicken or meat dishes. These have been bad to the point of having to throw it out before even taking a bite or after the first bite...when it was clear the food was spoiled.
Do not eat here. The food will make you sick and the service with attitude sucks.
O BOY alot of money. Yeah This could have been a great place to eat if bennny really made the pizza the people he has working for him suck and are VERY RUDE and cant make a pizza to save there souls! Dont get it delivered it will cost you a arm and the leg! The only reason he stays in busn. is bc he the only one that delivers in the stone rige area. I stoped ordering. Hope the one in kingston better! Benny get a grip on things you say your food so much bc of its top stuff .....O PLEASE! FIRE THEM PEOPLE as well. I think we should get a new pizzeria in TOWN PLEASE!!
Not the best. What happened to friendly customer service?
What a dissapointment..... After reading reviews for Benny's I decided to give it a try. When I placed the order, I was given attitude by the young girl answering the phone. I was told the pizza would be here within the hour....an hour and a half later it arrived. For 2 pizzas it cost me $38 due to delivery fees. Thats just flat out insane considering I am no more than a 10 minute drive from the place. The pizza was luke warm when it got here, the dough slightly undercooked and the sauce just being too sweet for my likings, I will NEVER order from Benny's again.
PIZZA AT IT'S BEST.
It would seem to me, if you are writing a restaurant review, you should stick to the subject matter and tell of the quality of food you were served and the service you were provided with when you dined at said restaurant. I am compelled to tell my opinion of Benny's restaurant located in Kingston, NY and the original store location in Stone Ridge, NY. I have dined at both, more often in Kingston, so I will write of that restaurant in my review. I think the pizza is awesome and the portions are extremely generous. I have had quiet lunches there as well as fun dinners with a gaggle of my friends. It's a great place to celebrate with friends, or to eat a slice alone while reading the newspaper. I think the prices are fair, for the portions you are served. The meat slice are huge and I have never been there when my friends were hungry for a second slice...one is more then enough. If you're really looking for a massive portion, try ordering a calzone...they're HUGE!
On many Friday and Saturday nights, there is a table set up with complimentary cannoli's and fried dough and hot coffee, too. I have even seen Benny send free garlic knots and wine to people waiting on their dinners. In these economic times, to have a restaurant owner be so generous when he is able, I think it 's unusually rare and really awesome.
If I have ever had a complaint, it would have been that there was never enough parking, but that is no longer a problem as the restaurant now has additional parking on the far side of the building.
I think it's important to support local business during these unknown economic times and if you are unhappy with your first visit, give the business a second chance...that only seems fair to me. I think to own a restaurant at a time when people are cutting back on the luxury of eatting out, it must be quite scary, so to find a place that gives you more then just the status quo for your buck, keep giving it your business. Treat yourself to Benny's and see if you like it.
I read the last review and I just feel that this space should be respected as a place to review the food you receive at a restaurant and the service you are given. If they offer a meeting place to gather to purge bad job experiences or terrible bosses, let me know...Heaven knows we all have our side of a story to share about a job gone wrong. Hey, I'll even do one better, I'll not only show up, but I'll bring the pizza.
Benny's is a nice place to grab a slice, order a nice dinner or even try sushi....they seem to have alot to offer. On most days, you'll catch Benny there....and that's kind of a nice touch, too.
If you're in Kingston, stop in and try a slice...the BBQ Chicken and the Buffalo Chicken slices are delicious! And don't forget the Stone Ridge restaurant, I'm definatley a fan of both spots.
My name is Lindsey and I used to work at Benny's. Benny hired me in January. After working for 2 weeks, he told me that he really liked me and "kept his mind on point" with my witty jokes and good energy.
WELL, the next day I was FIRED! ("for what happened last night"). And not by the person that hired me(Benny), but by another driver!!! And when I asked to speak with Benny, I was told he was not there...but he was (my best friend worked there too and told me that)...How pathetic.
So anyway, the thing that had "happened last night" was I had lost a $12.96 ticket with money after I delivered a cheese pizza to a place. I couldn't find it for "like, a half hour" (time documented by the brilliant Rosalie-Benny's daughter, who, might I add, thought that I wanted her boyfriend), but ended up finding it in a coat I had worn while delivering, but had taken off in between then and closing time. I gave her the ticket at the end of the night and was happy that I had found it!!
ANYWAY, the next day I got a message from the driver named Jeremy that I was fired because of "what happened last night". I still had a pizza bag in my car with about 100 menus. So the next day I bring them back and there is Benny. I had thmein my hands and raised them, insinuating, "Where should I put these?". He goes. "You, put those there" and pointed to an area that I should put them down.
So I did and neatly stacked the menus with all the other ones. I then asked if I was going to be given a reason by the person that hired me, why I was being fired. He said "I dunno, something happened between you and Rosalie, I still haven't talked to her". I then thought to myself, "If he hasn't even talked to her, how am I fired??".
So I asked him that, he gave me the run around then proceeded to tell me that "Rosalie's a boss here, and I don't question anything she says". What a wuss...maybe he should have taken into consideration that he daughter was jealous of me because she thought I liked her boyfriend. Also, all of her girlfriends worked there, so no one really liked me, except for some of the cooks and other (male) drivers.
So, before I left I told Benny that he has got to be kidding about accusing me of trying to STEAL $12.96 FROM THE PIZZA PLACE. I would deliver $10-$80 orders....BUT what the is $13.00????
He said he would talk to Rosalie and see about "maybe getting my job back". But I turned around and said, "No thanks, I really would not want to work here anymore anyway".
So, that's the type of people that own Benny's....and this is only a SMALL idea of the stuff that goes on there.
He fired my best friend Natalie because she couldn't work on Wednesday nights because she had VOLUNTEER rescue squad meetings, and would call all of them kitchen help Mexicans, even though they were Guatamalen and other ethnicities.
What an ignoramous!!!!
PLEASE, BOYCOTT BENNY'S.
GOOD FOOD BUT BAD MORALS.
Not so impressed!. Good BBQ chicken pizza and salads but is the only resturant I have ever been to that does not have ice! If you order a fountain drink in the middle of a 95 degree hot summer day...you will not get ice. This normally will not be enough for me to lower a rating so far but....the attitude you get when you ask for ice is unbeliveable I am sure they are pretty sensitive about being the only resturant in the world not to have ice since they quicly snap when asked. Even hot dog stands have ice! Buy bags and keep it in a cooler if you need! When I asked , the girl at the counter said that they do not have ice. I said I was flabbergasted and have never heard of such a thing and she replied that "thier customers do not complain". I have since witnessed others get thier head chopped off in similar fashion for the same disbelief. Funny that the new resturant in kingston has an ice machine...as well as a great view of the dishwasher from the diningroom...not to mention highwayside dining on albany avenue! Some of the pizza is ok but I am not impressed with the service at the stone ridge store overall. On a more positive note...the staff is much friendlier at the new kingston store. I do not go to Benny's anymore. Laflorentina is so much better and right up the road.
Great Food, Best pizza around. The pizza is excellent. The Subs are great too. The turkey breast is roasted onsite and fresh. I highly recommend everything on the menu. The only complaint i have is the pasta dishes that specify linguini come with regular spaghetti and according to the waitress they didn't carry linguini. Keep up the good work.
Gotta Love Benny's. Benny's Pizzeria is the best pizza in Ulster County. Stop in for a slice or get a hot pie to go you won't be disappointed. I heard they are coming to Kingston and I can't wait. As it is now, I drive from Kingston to Stone Ridge just to pick up a Benny's Pizza to go for my family. Totally worth the drive!!!! Go Benny's!!!
