Where's the Beef!.
A little disappointed with the portions served vs price, although the taste was exceptional. I tried the House special of Shrimp, Chicken and Beef. There were 3 shrimps and a few pieces of beef and chicken but mostly Chinese vegetables. The Wonton soup had 3 little wontons without any meat inside. The Egg Rolls were very tasty but very small.
Chinatown exists in Kingston, NY.
Go for the Chinatown noodle soup, the fried wonton (they aren't like the others), and the array of really fresh offerings such as chicken with cashew nuts that make this one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Hudson Valley. When in Chinatown, forget the ambiance, so forget it here and focus on company and food!
I have friends who are lunch regulars for over a year and have NEVER been let down.
On Fridays, expect a 25 minute wait for takeout, this place is not undiscovered...
Curries, Samosas, Satay, Pad Thai -- great variety, lovely staff.
What a great place. Looks like an old-fashioned, tacky Chinese restaurant -- red wallpaper, golden dragons everywhere, drinks with umbrellas. The owner seems to really like food, and keeps expanding the menu beyond the straight-ahead Chinese and Japanese offerings. I love the red curries (chicken, shrimp or vegetarian, all rich with coconut milk), the Thai chicken satay with peanut sauce, the pad thai, the Thai-style seafood soup. There are often little samosas or fish cakes on the appetizer menu. Usually I'd be leery of a place that tried to do so many different things, but somehow it works at this place. You get the feeling that someone in the kitchen is happy you're ordering some of the more unusual stuff, and they're rewarding you by making sure it's extra good. Oh yeah, the sushi is also good and so is the Chinese.
High-quality sushi, great Chinese, fantastic staff..
I eat here almost once a week, even though I live over a half hour away. I've eaten sushi for most of my life you you cannot find higher quality sushi and more creatively made rolls than the ones offered at Kingston Wok. The owner, Kristine, is friendly, interesting, and has excellent customer service skills, in addition to producing incredible sushi.
The place may look like a bit of a hole in the wall, but those places always have the best food. Tomo Sushi (Saugerties) also has excellent food, but Kingston Wok's environment is more relaxed, casual, with more friendly staff and much more affordable prices.
A MUST TRY!!!!!!.
Some of the best Chinese/Japanese food that you will ever have. The staff is extremely nice. The sushi is top notch and the hot food is to die for. Plus you can't beat the price, for the quality of the food.
