An Unforgettable Experience!. I would like to thank Mr. Zero Tolerance for his warm,friendly,accomodating demeanor embracing my guest and I.

After being seated,we anxiously waited to place our order for the clambake.This was our sole and primary reason for choosing this establishment.We were informed that the clambake was no longer available. I requested to speak to the manager or the person in charge.I stood by my table awaiting his arrival.Before I even opened my mouth.Mr.Zero Tolerance psychologically ambushed me in a smug,arrogant,obnoxious condescending manner and barked,"Sit Down!"I was totally appalled at such reprehensible behavior but relented in order to not make a scene..Mr.Diplomacy gave us our options for a meal.We settled on the crab legs which turned out to be $20.00 more when our bill had arrived..

At no point during our meal did Mr. Congeniality pass by our table to make an accomodation.concession or the most minute inkling of a gesture for just minimal appeasement.

(ex.Is everything satisfactory ?or How are you enjoying your meal?) It was as if Mr. Personality deliberately went out of his way to ostracize us even though he did give us the sole privilege of dining in this hostile environment.

Though I was the one that conceded.I felt as if I was ""eating crow"" instead of ""crab legs""..

In conclusion, I can honestly say that I have never been subjected or treated in such a deigning.demeaning, degradating manner in any establishment that I had patronized.

So diners if you dare to dine at Island Mermaid

Really Really Good Food. Steamers were fantastic; clams on the half shell were good too. Had the best cheddar cheese burger medium rare. Was out of this world. Would definitely go back on my next trip to Fire Island, Ocean Beach!

really strange treatment. They messed up my order. Wouldn't fix it. Didn't offer an alternative, or a free drink; nothing. I had to sit with no meal while my friends finished theirs.

The worst service and Cobb Salad I ever had.. The service was abominable. It took 20 minutes to get a drink and 40-45 to get my Cobb Salad. The salad had less than an ounce of protein. I wanted to return it but that would have taken too long. When I gave the female server cash for my check she disappeared. I had to contac tanother server to locate her for the change.. NEVER AGAIN!
