Be Careful. I think Jess may have lost his touch. I sent in a B-15 head, was charged $347 for a set up of 2 new power tubes, cleaning and checkup. He also changed the ungrounded power cord to yet another 2 prong ungrounded power cord. When I complained of a shock, he told me I didn't undertand the steps to turn on a tube amp (he was kind of nasty actually and I DO know how to turn on a tube amp!) I brough the amp in to a local shop who prompty changed the power cord to a grounded one, changed a cap and fixed some loose solders and it sound just fine.

Bottom line, this isn't rocket science. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere. I hope I just had a bad expereince because his invention is pretty special…

Ampeg B15. I have an Ampeg B15N. It was always a dream amp of mine since I was a kid. I found it about 15 years ago and the amp had served me well throughout the years. Thing was, I never had it serviced, plus I hadn't used it in the past 2 years. I thought it was due for a check up.

It has always sounded great. I was told it had been serviced once by the original owner, who told me a TV repairman did the best he could to replace the speaker for him. The repairman had to cut the tube cage down because the Jensen speaker, which he installed,had a big dust cover. He didn't know he could have taken the it off. So the tube cage was cut up. Jess got a new tube cage together for it and corrected anything that was out of place. Now I have my dream amp!

I found Jess when I was on ebay looking at B15s...emailed him, and he said bring it over to him. I did. Two weeks later he called me to pick it up. I brought it home, plugged it in and played. I simply couldn't believe it was the same amp! Most amazing tone my basses have ever had! And it really looks new! A dream come true !!!!! Don't hesitate to call him as you will not be dissapointed.…
