Relaxed casual outdoor dining.. Very nice place to chill. Went on last night (Thursday) with a friend, sat outside, had drinks, dinner (Bacon burger - good), dessert (Death by Chocolate - VERY good) and lingered. Nice atmosphere and excellent service: the server gave us prompt attention and we never felt rushed. I'll go back.
Hop over to this West End brewpub for its laid-back atmosphere and frothy beers..
In Short
Blackstone draws a diverse crowd, from families to the financial set, but it's really a haven for beer connoisseurs. A handful of TVs provide action on game days, and those seeking a quiet respite can relax in overstuffed chairs by the fireplace in an alcove just off the bar. Award-winning Nut Brown Ale is one of the most popular brews and a full-service menu includes artichoke dip, shepherd's pie and wood-fired pizza.
Rude!. We visited Nashville the last weekend in March and had read a good review of this restaurant, so thought we would give it a try. It was also across the street from our hotel, so it was very convenient. The host/manager and the hostess could not have been ruder. We were looking a menu while we waited for a table, and the hostess litteraly snatched the menu from my friend's hand and threw it on the counter when she came to seat us! The food was mediocre, but the beer was good. The mashed potatoes were good, but the ceaser was too cheesy. Our server Tim V was very friendly, and deserves to work somewhere else! He was too good for this place!
service was awful. I went here w/ a group of friends from out of town, and the service was so horrible it was embaressing that i took my friends there!!! The server took our food before we were done eating, and the food was only mediocre.....They need to get some better servers there. The nut brown was good, i give it that! otherwise go somewhere else...
ALWAYS GREAT BEER. Always great food and beer- not always great service. I dined here numerous times and the service sometimes doesnt match up to the quality of the food and beer.
Boy, Do I Miss this Place!. I moved from Nashville to a smaller town a few years back. Last year I took my husband (from San Francisco) to Blackstone for dinner. He went nuts! Their pizzas are so delicious--non-greasy, perfect. Artichoke dip is an 11+. Atmosphere to die for! Blackstone is to weekend hangouts what Davis Kidd is to books. Pros outweight cons 1 million to one.
Textbook Brewpub.
Upon entering you have a good view of the entire brewing process thanks to a windowed area. There are also tanks right out in the waiting area for you to see. The atmosphere is very dark and woody, and they have one of the largest collections of beer bottles I have ever seen! Since the place was already pretty busy on a Sunday night, we got a seat in "the library", which was actually very cool. You sit in an inset room with couches and coffee tables and eat right there, surrounded by books! I would recommend asking to sit there if you have the chance.
Blackstone has about 12 taps, and all are devoted to the house draughts.
The server was good but very harried, it looked like he was covering the entire bar area himself.
The burgers we ordered were both very good, and the fries were tasty.
Truely Wonderful. I've been a Blackstone customer for years. My kids have grown up at the place. They love it. If you feel English, try the Fish and Chips. They are the best on this side of the Atlantic. Their filet is the best cut of meat you will find for the price in Nashville. The brick oven pizzas, the pan seared trout, the artichoke chicken pasta, the ribs... I can go on an on. Don't get me started about the beer. They are all truely world class. My favorite is the St. Charles Porter. You won't find a better porter anywhere in the world!!!
I will return.. Service was prompt but waitress never came back to check on drinks until she delivered the food. The menu has a variety of cuisines and the food is good and servings are generous. The bar and front room are cozy but the main dining area lacks atmosphere. This was my second visit and I will return, there are many more items I want to try.
Build your own pizza..... This is a great place to get a personal pizza if you want something a little more "gourmet" than Pizza Hut. It is a delicious crust w/ a long list of choices of toppings, brick-oven style. Try the bacon & goat cheese, YUM! YUM! Oh yeah, the beer is good, too!
