TOP NOTCH ! one of my faves !. TOP NOTCH ! one of my faves ! Wing night is always crowded. Summer is not so jumpin' since people head to the water bars in LB, but this time of year until May it is a great place on any night.

NEVER again!. We are regulars at Croxley Ale establishments. My boyfriend and I visited Croxley Ale's after a day at the beach. We arrived to see a notice indicating "no sleeveless shirts." After being asked to comply, we did, and truth be told, we respect this requirement..... Fast forward to when we are leaving----a family- of another race- is accommodated to seating with two members wearing sleeveless shirts. When we questioned the call, the response was "oh she's (the waitress) getting him a shirt". BOTTOM LINE- the same rules don't apply for everyone at this establishment. My suggestion: be sure that your bar staff on 8-16 is on board with the restaurant policy because this could be followed up easily in a court of law. Things are often not what they seem~

A realistic point of view. After reading the reviews the place (in some cases) unfairly got, I feel the need to chime in. First, the only time I ever had a problem with a drink there is when they were getting to the end of a keg... it was promply replaced without question.

Second, the staff... think about it for a min. This place seriously has to have over 500 people in and out (if not more) on a given night (especially when they're doing the wing specials on mon and wed). If you were one of those people that complained about the hostesses, put yourself in their position for a moment. Usually quite attractive young ladies that probably have heard every line in the book thrown at them on a minutely basis... how chipper would you be? Seriously? The only time I've ever seen one of them get "rude" is when some drunk fool fell over and took one of the girls down with him.

Next, the food. It's a pub, not an upscale restaurant. Expect pub food. In my opinion probably the BEST pub food I've had this side of London. (and the alehouse burger has got to be the BEST pub burger on the island)

Finally the wait: Theres a reason there are a hundred + people waiting to get seated on any given mon/wed. You're probably there for the same reason. You're gonna wait when a place is this popular so stop your crying, grab a beer and watch some TV or listen to some tunes.

Hot n fresh wings, cold n tasty beers. Great local place to try out a variety of beers, many of which you won't find anywhere else in the area. Here, I have grown fond of beers I had never heard of before. The wings are crispy, hot and plenty saucy. Usually crowded as all heck. Most nights I go I'm told the wait is in excess of an hour. You're bound to be seated a little before but you'd better not mind standing. You won't get a lot of smiles when greeted but, once seated, the waitstaff is pleasant enough and make capable suggestions. The wait at the bar is usually killer until you go often enough to get to know you. I'd say 2/3 of the time, we end up standing or just grabbing a seat at the bar. That may be annoying to some but I get what I want out of the place so it's not a major complaint of mine.
