Dissapointed - huge servings, but cheaply done

I ate lunch at Mother Kelly's for the first time today. It's has a reputation in this area of Long Island for having decent food. But, I was realy dissapointed. I started with the lobster bisque and then the lasagna.
The lobster bisque had no discernable pieces of or relation to lobster. What it did have in it was IMITATION CRABMEAT. What? It was also very obviously from some sort of a canned soup base. Very very salty, no dairy, and only some random pieces of fake crab floating in it. Certainly not what I'd expect from lobster bisque.
I had the lasagna as my entree. Nothing negative to say about it. It was HUGE, probably appropriate for a family of 4. Fairly non-descript, not the best or the worst I've ever had.
But, one of the people at my table ordered the crab salad. Which was a scoop of crab salad on top of some iceberg lettuce. But, again, the crab had pieces of imitation crab meat mixed with a few scarce pieces of real crab. The use of this imitation crab meat is not listed anywhere on the menu, yet we saw it in 2 dishes. Please, it is nothing more than processed and colored, pressed white fish. I have nothing against imitation crab, but don't call it crab on the menu!
Another diner had the mushroom ravioli and it seemed like it was frozen, cisco (or whatever) brand generic mushroom ravioli, swimming in sauce.
The garlic bread was great, the best thing any of us at the table at there during the entire meal.
I definitely will not be going back and don't recommend it. Mother Kelly's seems to think using really cheap ingredients is a suitable compromise for overly large proportions.
- Pros: family size individual servings
- Cons: really cheaped out with ingredients
good home made food

After my visit to the superb Rodolfo Valentin Salon and spa in Cedarhurst, my husband came to pick me up and we decided to have our dinner in the area. Rodolfos recommended the one around the corner from him (Mother Kelly). It is a very soho place, young-noisy with a great italian food, fresh and tasty.
- Pros: good italian food with a big selection
- Cons: waiters should be more caring
PIZZA??

I frequently eat at Mother Kelly's when I am on the south shore. Pizza? Yeah, maybe some of the best around. However!!! - This is a full-menu restaurant with a menu filled with pages and pages of offerings, each one better than the last. And, talk about enough - I weigh almost 300 pounds, and have never been able to finish everything Mother Kelly's serves you. The food is exceptional, and comes prepared just as you like it. The owner, Glenn, is a friendly fellow, and bends over backward to make you feel at home, and welcome at the restaurant. Try the portabello tower!! Try to finish!
- Pros: Excellent food, Excellent variety, Very nice personnel
