NuBest just gets it right. My colorist knows what to do and when. The owner, Michael, gives the best haircuts. And when I have a special occasion, I get my hair blown out and I look and feel fabulous. NuBest is crowded for a reason.
Nubest is the BEST! I received a
giftcard and used it to get my hair styled. I never been to the salon but always heard good things so I was excited to go.
It was super easy getting an appointment, the staff was super kind when greeted, I met with my stylist, and talked about my hair, my lifestyle and what would work for me. I brought some images with me, and I was extremely impressed, because my stylist was not scissor happy, and ready to cut into my hair.
The assistant was very sweet, she did an amazing blow-out and what I liked, she showed me how to blow it myself and correctly hold the brush - that's always the hard part. I was impressed!
The salon is very upscale, very clean, I swear, I didn't see one
speck of hair anywhere, or anything messy. The staff really interacts with each other and they all seem like very talented professional people.
I even got a free holiday travel set-thought that was also very kind.
I love my cut, and I had a great time, I still have some money left on my gift card so I booked a nail appt.
It's like being in Manhattan without the train ride!
Fabulous Haircut; Owner Yells at Assistant in front of me.
Nubest is a beautiful Salon. Most of the staff are nice. I have found one of the front desk people to be rather rude.
I have gotten about 4 haircuts by the owner Michael.
Michael is FABULOUS at cutting my hair. One of the top 3 people who has ever cut my hair in my lifetime.
However, he is engaged in constant conversation with employees who stop by to greet and kiss him, and little focus on me the customer.
My last haircut was a miserable experience. He started to yell at his assistant and chewed her out repeatedly during my haircut. I was mortified and horrified at his humiliating his assistant in public.
I felt helpless to do anything. I made the assistant feel worse by asking if she was okay when Michael was out of earshot. HE spends a lot of time speaking to everyone BUT me, the customer-Junior staff stop by and hug and kiss him throughout my haircut.,every time.
The only reason I am going back ,at least for one more haircut, is because he cuts my hair so beautifully.Despite his constant conversing with others, which is rude to me, his customer, he never lost focus on my Hair or Haircut, which was fabulous. I have been using him for under a year,and he is one his 3rd assistant in this time. Please , Nubest, if you are readin this, can you speak to Michael? I drive quite a distance to have him cut my hair because he is THAT good ,but it is a miserable experience watching someone else humiliated and berated in front of me. Surely he can pull aside the assistant and privately tell her anything he needs to out of earshot of the customer.
Best Salon, Hands Down!. I just recently started going to NuBest Salon and I couldn't be more satisfied with the services. I've been getting so many compliments on my hair ever since I got it done by Jamie Mazzei. They also have eyebrow threading and I wouldn't go back to waxing or to anyone else ever again! I HIGHLY recommend this place!

While it is unfortunate that you were not satisfied with your recent visit to nuBest, we feel that your review depicts us in an unfair manner. Although it is indeed not our policy to refund clients, after receiving your email and phone call, we offered you a Gift Certificate for a dollar amount of $65 that could be redeemed for any of our salon and spa services, not to mention our expansive selection of haircare, skincare, and makeup tools and products. We have attempted to rectify this situation to the best of our ability without violating our policy, which has been in place since nuBest's inception nearly 40 years ago. Thank you.
Brought pictures with me to show stylist what I wanted. My hair was all one length after waiting a year to cut. Stylist ignored everything I said, told me to LET HIM DO WHAT HE DOES. Well, he lopped off the front of my hair, BURNED my hair when drying it and when I got home, I was in tears. I couldnt put a comb thru the burned hair. The front of my hair stuck up like a rooster. This, after waiting a year for the haircut of my dreams. My son gave me a gift cert to Nubest for Christmas. What a waste of money that was.
I wrote them a letter which went unanswered. I emailed their PR person, who passed along a message to the manager. She asked me to call. After I told her that I was not satisfied, she said that they would not refund the $65 I paid for just the haircut portion of the bill. I spent $100 there but only asked to be refunded for haircut. She refused, said its not their policy.
Beware. They DO NOT stand behind their product. There is no customer satisfaction. What you see is what you get, no remorse, they dont care.
I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN A PLACE LIKE THIS AGAIN for as long as I live.

I have been going to Nubest for 3 years and would never go anywhere else! I have also taken all 4 of my children for haircuts and been happy every single time.
I also find there pricing really great for a top notch salon.
Love this place. I recently went to nubest for the first time. One of my good friends recommended that I get my hair cut by Stacy. It was one of the best hair cuts I've ever gotten! Stacy was also the sweetest person. She has a great attitude and was really helpful in helping me find the right hair cut for me! The receptionist were also very helpful in getteing me where I had to go. Great atmosphere. Beautiful salon. i will definetly be returning to nubest.
RIP OFF!!! Stay Clear!. I called to make an appointment for a Brazilian keratin treatment to tame my frizzy curly hair. the receptionist asked that I first come in for a consultation, which i did and was told by Merryl i was the perfect candidate. I had the treatment done by Merryl, who when i got there told me she needs to do a different treatment then the one she original thought would work. after spending $300.00 for the treatment, $40.00 for special shampoo and $60.00 tip and 3 hours of my time i had straight hair that i could not wash for 4 days. before i even washed my hair it was frizzing. when i washed my hair it was just as frizzy but a little less curly then when i first walked into the salon. I called and was told this never happens and to come back and they will fix it. I reluctantly went back and they were not very nice. Lisa, the manager, thought i was coming for a first time treatment. Merryl kept saying she did not understand this, but guarantees her work. well, after 3 hours and leaving a $40.00 tip i left again with straight hair, but after washing was left with a frizzy mess! when i called and said i want my money back i was told it was not their policy and they would give me a credit for another treatment or products. I told them i would not let anyone in their salon come near my hair again and i feel since i did not get what i paid for they should give me my money back. They refused! I will see them in court. Stay away from this place!
Great service at Nubest. Ive been going to my stylist, Karina, for over 10 years. She has been nothing less than phenomenal. She makes me feel like a million dollars everytime I leave the salon. She recently cut my hair shorter than I normally have had it in the past and I LOVE it!! People ask me all the time who does my hair and I tell them to see Karina. Not only is she friendly and efficient, but she always gives great ideas on cutting, styling your hair. She makes it look easy. Call me crazy, but I honestly dont let anyone else but Karina near my hair! I can't say enough great things about her. I also see Christian for coloring and he is fantastic. My hair always looks beautiful and the staff respect the quality of his work. Lastly, Charles and Anna do beautiful work in the make-up department. What more can I say? Nubest is "one-stop shopping" for ALL of your beauty needs. It has been over a decade of happy experiences for me at Nubest and I can't wait to go back.
