I have been dining at this restaurant for at least 10 years, and I don't think the review by "BITTMONT" is honest. Never, ever, have I seen roaches in that eatery (I am very sensitive to cleanliness and roach issues). They probably had a dispute with the management and were being vindictive. The food is quite good and the place, including the restroom, is acceptably clean.
DON'T EVER GO TO THAT PLACE! – dirty plates, horrible service, mandatory service fee...
worse thing, the food is not clean - I got food poisoning after eating there and had to go hospital ER!
Cockroaches Galore ! – We went there last week with a couple of girl friends, AW my God, Roaches where runing all over the place !
We run out of the place as fast as we got in, and they
wanted to charge us even though we did not eat anything. The Manager told us we could complain to anybody, he does not care. The owner does not speak one word of English ????
Avoid this Scam place, Run before you get there !
They are nicer places worth your money.
Customer is always right. Not Here! – I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. Mostly had good experiences. At least once aweek for takeout. This week I made a mistake in that I took watermelon to go and realized a piece and a little other fruit was not worth $10. I requested for them to let me take something else instead and the manager refused. For some fruit that cost them maybe a dollar they just lost along time customer.No customer service and the food is not what it used to be. Not a good way to run a restaurant.
HARVEST BUFFET OVER PRICED – I'd rated this restaurant few years ago with four stars but it's getting over priced with dishes they serve. Trays were empty and foods are over cooked. On top of food, service need to be reconsidered over all. Very disappointed !!
my first time visit to this place is also my last. – i've heard good things about this restaurant, and last night my girlfriend and i went there to tried it out. first, they have a private parking lot for their customers which is nice. then, as soon as i walk in the restaurant bad things starting to happen. the hostess gave our seat away to another couple way down the list, we had to argue with her to get her back in order from her list to get our seat. after that i found out the waiters barely speak English or they can't speak. they just push people away without saying anything. after we grab our food one of the waitress was cleaning the table next to us, i don't know what kind of method she's using the left over food on the table she's cleaning flying all over the place and some landed on my plate........that was rough. as soon as i turn my head she's already gone. seems to me that they don't care about quality all they want is get things done quick. i can't denied the food is really good compare to a lot of Chinese restaurant in queens. finally, the bill, each person is $29.99 which is over priced for a place like this, and it has service charge for 14%? i didn't bother to ask them what it is. service charge and 14% very clear to me it's tips. i just leave whatever they wrote on the bill with no extra. my overall experience with this place is very poor. i drove all the way from Brooklyn to a below average restaurant, once is enough and never come again.
Greedy owners. – They are a rip off! Beware. I have never in my life gone to a restaurant that charge a 2 YEAR OLD, I repeat, a 2 year old $25.00 for buffet. My son barely touched his plate. They are ridiculous and obviously greedy and PREJUDICE towards children. Not worth it, they will never see a dime from me again.
Dirty Buffet...Service Charge Rip-Off – I read a lot of restaurant reviews, but never felt compelled to write a review until tonight. I just got back from HB. I had to wait approx. 10 on a waiting list because it was so crowded. We were seated, ordered our drinks and got our food. We tried the sushi first. I started to put a few california rolls onto my plate when I noticed a long black hair on top of the squid sushi...it was disgusting. The buffet area was very crowded which made it difficult to take your time and decide what you wanted. People were pushing and rushing to pile food on top of their plates. Not an enjoyable feeling. The dinner felt rushed and it seemed like the servers were watching you and wanted you to leave quickly. They even have a sign on each table that says there's an 1 1/2 time limit on dining...what a joke. Then comes the bill with the service charge which they note is NOT a tip (14% plus tax), but part or all of the service charge may go to pay the employees salaries (just another way to rip you off and it probably goes in the owner's greedy pockets). I didn't leave any additional money for a tip as I thought the Service charge is ridiculous. They should either add the charge to the base cost of the buffet or charge for the "complimentary" beverages. The total cost for my boyfriend and I was $80.03 (he had a beer for an additional charge). It wasn't worth the money at all. My boyfriend swears they put some chemical in the food to make people full quickly as we had two dishes and ended up leaving.
Spend your money somewhere else. This place is dirty and a rip-off.
Flies all around the food, poor attitudes from the waiters and the manager should be fired – Overcrowded, waiters are rude and some barely speak english, the hostess is a joke and doesn't do anything, and the manager this indian guy needs to be fired. He doesn't do his job at all. All he does is argue with the customers and say that he's right. Who wants to come back to a place like that. Plus there are always these flies in the restaurant that hovers over the food area and bothers you while you eat. The bathroom is not that clean and insufficient light, probably b/c it's dirty and they don't want you to see it. The dept of health really should check this place out and make sure the inspector is not being bribed to pass them. This is purely a money making machine with no tact at all. Low class. This place needs to be boycotted until they change management and clean up their restaurant and hire some waiters that actually have experience and a good attitude.
Poor service, food cleanliness of question – I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Last night while dined at Harvest Buffet, I found a fly in my soup that totally destroyed my appetite. I complained to the manager who reluctantly admitted it as a problem and offered me a $3 discount off of my bill. Not that I cared about the discount, but they managed to ruin my night with my wife that simply outraged me. We quickly paid the bill and vowed not to return to that restaurant again. By the way, unbeknownst to me, the restaurant charges a mandatory tip regardless of how many people there are in your party. That said, even you want to tip less because of the poor service received, you will not have a prayer. Just an FYI.
