In Short
The Central Park Zoo and the Tisch Children's Zoo draw groups, families and kids. The most popular exhibits are the tumbling polar bears and the penguin house. Volunteers inform and educate classes and families on the subjects of conservation, the environment and wildlife. Those interested in volunteering at the zoo must complete a 10-week training program and make a one-year commitment of two days per month.

I decided to go here on whim after walking through the park. I was alone, but I had such a great time. There's not a ton of animals like the Bronx Zoo, but it's an intimate atmosphere and small enough to easily walk around and not get too tired. I watched the polar bears for a good twenty minutes. It started to rain, but there's plenty of awning and indoor exhibits to take refuge in. Mostly all the animals were out and about doing stuff. They don't take credit or debit, but for $6 who cares?!
Pros: great price, cute animals, intimate park

Took my 7 year old daughter - not a lot to see which translates to very little walking which is good, SHE LOVED IT ! Despite that there are not many animals, the ones that are there are VERY entertaining and close up with a great view of them !
Pros: close up view of anim, Little Walking, Price
Cons: Variety of Animals
