Despicable Business Person! – It's not often you run across someone who has developed such a bad reputation that strangers seem to know about them! Such is the story for Lynne Cauley Real Estate and Management Co. in Gardnerville, Nevada. On three separate occasions, the conversation centered around people in real estate who had been disreputable in one regard or another. Before we could even name the person (Lynne Cauley), the people we were talking to named her first!! Yikes. In other words, the very poor reputation of Lynne Cauley was known by MANY people in her area. It would take too many paragraphs to adequately describe the many unfortunate encounters we had with her during a six year period as one of her renters. Suffice it to say that Ms. Cauley desperately needs to take a good look at herself, and take a course in Business Ethics, as well, to round it off. As the growing list of negative reviews here attest, AVOID ANY AND ALL BUSINESS DEALINGS with Lynne Cauley Real Estate and Management. She favors HUD recipients. Many of them known to the police as having serious mental problems. When problems arise, she is very slow to act. We wore ourselves out dealing with her. Most regions of the country would have blacklisted her. She's rude, tempermental, arrogant and shames her profession with her outrageous practices. When you PAY rent for a place to live, you expect to be treated respectfully. Ms. Cauley slants her attentions towards owners of property, and treats renters as lowly buffoons. Is this REALLY someone you want to deal with or rent from?
Great Management Company!!!! – These negative reviews crack me up! I have rented from them on two separate occasions and I have never had a problem with them. They have a huge inventory of homes and worked with me both times to find exactly what I was looking for. They never bothered me or showed up unenexpectedly like some of the others have claimed. I was always given 24 hours notice and they were unobtrusive when performing the inspections. As far as getting your deposit back, people need to realize that the reason why a deposit is held is to insure that it is professionally cleaned and properly maintained. Hire a professional cleaning company and provide them with a receipt. I've gotten my full deposit back both times by doing this. You people realize that the management company isn't allowed to keep your deposit right? They use what they need to properly clean the place and then are required to return the balance. I think the problem is personal responsibility, nobody wants to be responsible for their own actions anymore. People thrash the place and then get mad when they don't get their full refund. This is a business, not a charity, and their main function is to manage the property for the OWNER!!! They are not the tenant's agent, if you want one of those, hire one. I would recommend Lynne and her friendly staff to anyone looking for a rental and I am currently in the process of looking for a new rental through her company. Thanks, Lynne
BEWARE OF LYNNE CAULEY REAL ESTATE!!! – My husband and I just moved out 1 month ago from a home we rented from Lynne Cauley Real Estate for 3 years. As all the other bad reviews have stated the exact same things happened to us. Please! we can only WARN people to BEWARE of the shady dealings of Lynne Cauley Reality on you getting your full deposit back when you move out. My only advice that I can give other is dont rent from Lynne Cauley Reality or if you do as the others have said, have them present for the walk thru and for the closing walk thru when you move out!!! and take lots of pictures before and after. But unless you want to go to court that probley wont do any good eather. JUST DONT EXPECT YOUR FULL DEPOSIT BACK!!!!
They WILL rip you off!! – My husband and I rented a home from Lynne Cauley Real Estate about 8 years ago. Admittedly, we were naive in the way we handled our interaction with this company...unfortunately (or fortunately) they taught us alot. Our first clue that there was a problem with their business practice should have been that they did not do the initial walk through with us. When we moved in, the house was filthy...the crevices in the white linoleum in the kitchen were filled with dirt, toilets were dirty, etc. I cleaned it and didn't complain (mistake #2). During the 2&1/2 years that we lived there, it was like pulling teeth to get them to come out and fix anything. When we moved out, I had two family members work with me to scour this house from top to bottom. We cleaned EVERYTHING...washed the walls, patched the holes, wiped the cabinets and drawers...you get the picture. The house was cleaner when we moved out than when we moved in! Our 3rd mistake was that we didn't do the walk through when we moved out. When they mailed us our "deposit" we got $100 back. They charged us for a cleaning service to come in to clean, maintenance to fix things that we apparently broke, etc. In other words, they ripped us off. When I called to discuss the various charges with them they informed me that when the cleaning crew went in they complained that the drawers in the kitchen were filled with dirt and they had pictures to prove it....A bunch of bull!!! Do not rent from this company, they will rip you off and take your money. If you don't have a choice, make sure you insist on being there for the initial and final walk through and document EVERYTHING...take pictures, take notes, give them a copy of all that you document and keep a copy for yourself. I wish you all the best and CYA!!!
The Worst!!!!! – This agency is not responsive. Allows owners to break laws --shows up without proper notice, comes into house when we were out of town, went through my personal mail in the mail box on a regular basis and then quizzed us about who was receiving mail at the house (violation of federal laws), complaining to the manager did no good--they refused to do anything about it. This went on for two years. We made agreements as condition of move in on improvements that needed to be made to the property--but they did not make them. They allowed the owner to keep the entire deposit after I spent 12 hours cleaning the house and paid for carpet cleaning and minor repairs. I even painted. I paid my rent on time every month and was an excellent renter. But this manager was more concerned about the out of town owners (the owner would visit every few weeks) and desparate to keep business--which is very tough in that area- than doing what was proper or legal. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE you will be sorry if you do!!!!
Gooood rental agency! – The other lady is full of it. These people are wonderfull to rent through. They give u a five day grace period on ur rent and "forget" to charge you a late fee if you pay it the 6th instead of the 5th I have never had a problem with them they fixed the door trim which is a "luxury item" in less than 3 days and they also fixed the toilet which worked perfect jus a lil loud. I love renting through lynne cauley I perfer them over any1 else
Worst people to rent threw – these people are only out for the money, the minute you go threw a life change such as a illness, divorce, job loss what have you, expect to get eviction notices on the 2nd of each month!!!! it does not matter that you paid all of the rent the previous month it does not matter if you are staying current, they wont want you in there clients home! they will tell you something and then tell you they never said that! they will take there time to fix anything that happens to break or go wrong, and if it is a ceiling fan that wont go on, a door nob that wont open, or a fence that has blown down they will inform you these are "luxury items" and the landlord does not have to fix them! and if he does feel privileged! and also if you happen to be a awesome tenant who pays your rent on time and has never had a problem with any thing you will come to the sad reality check when you move out of the property that you will not be getting back that well deserved deposit! you see the light bulb in the closet may have gone out and don't you know labor and replacement cost for that are well over $100. dollars not to mention that spot on the wall!!! hey there is another $300. for that! and hey if you don't want to take my word for it ask around town to any one who has had the misfortune of going threw this agency! they will tell you the same thing I just have this company should be shut down for mis conduct and unprofessional nature!
