Best Italian food around. If your looking for great food and a wonderful atmosphere this is the place to go. If you notice, all the bad reviews were written almost three years ago. Since then the restaurant has changed owners and they know what they are doing. Everything I have tried was not just good, its amazing! The staff make you feel like your the most important guest they have had that day. The deserts are made by a lady who is a master of her craft. I've tried red velvet cake all over the country and nothing compares to what they have! The prices are a little higher than most restaurants in town but you get what you pay for. If you want cheap food that tastes alright go to the Olive Garden and have them microwave something for you. My only complaint is that they were out of brownies last night. Guys if you need a place for a first date this is it!!

New to Las Cruces and first time at this restaurant.. We must have been there on the same day that 'Disappointed' and her husband were. New to the area, we were anxious to try this restaurant. Overall we had a nice experience - but not GREAT!

We found the bread, for being baked on premise, quite disappointing. Really lacked flavor - and the dipping sauce was just ok.

While my husband was pleasantly surprised by the amount of seafood in his dish outweighing the amount of pasta, I found my Vegetarian Lasagna tastey - but so overpowered by the sauce, it was impossible to find a hint of vegetable flavor - or any vegetables to speak of. I'm wondering if they pureed them!?

We were pleased to see a nice wine selection, which is moderately priced; and the cheesecake dessert - which we split was ok ... we both have had better.

Our server was pleasant enough - but not overly engaging - and the same can be said for the hostess, which we understand is the owner.

I'm sure we will go back - everyone deserves a second chance!

Great Food and Atmosphere. My husband and I love this restaurant. SI is amazing and the food is wonderful. The bread is not too great, but the dipping sauce is good. Our favorite thing to eat is the pizza and the fruti de mari. SI's atmosphere is also very comforting. It is an old house that still feels so like home. It is so amazing and the owner is a very nice lady who goes to a few tables a night asking if everything is going ok. I would reccommend this place to anyone.

Disappointed. My husband and I have eaten here a few times, but today was the first in a few months. We have been very pleased with the food and service in the past. Today, however, my husband, the bread hound, said the bread was the worst he's ever had in a restaurant. He ordered a pizza and was happy. I ordered the vegetable lasagna and was really disappointed. There were only minute slivers of anything that resembled vegetables between the many layers of noodles. Lots of sauce and noodles, but no veggies.

Best Italian in town. Truly fine cuisine. The artichoke soup was excellent. I also had the Fettucine Pesto with chicken which was also excellent. They have several tasty salad dressings to choose from and the salads are adequately garnished and are pretty tasty even without dressing. The "SI" stands for "Sweet Indulgence (cafe)" which has long been a favorite sweet spot of Las Crucens for years. Along with fine desserts Sweet Indulgence also served up some fine sandwiches; Chicken Green Chile, Chicken Curry, Spicy Portobello with Red Pepper (awesome), Grilled Eggplant, Waldorf Chicken Salad Sandwich, just to name a few. Sweet Indulgence is now within the Italian Bistro restaurant. Desserts are great (my favorite is the triple mousse with white chocolate, milk chocolate and a dark chocolate on top of a thin layer of cake)- a little pricey though. The restaurant is situated back from the street a bit in a beautiful mansion type early 20th century home. There is seating on three different levels and an open kitchen. I would also like to note that at the time of my first visit, there was only one waitress, one chef. There were at least 25-30 people inside and although they apologized for the wait, the wait was not long at all. The service was superb and it was a totally satisfying dining experience. You may want to make reservations during peak hours (Friday and Saturday nights).Great cuisine!

Deserts to love. The cream puffs are wonderful, but so is the Italian Cream Cake or the Death by Chocolate Cake. The sandwiches are very good also.
