A Pleasant Suprise!!!. Stopped here on a whim. Wasn't impressed with the restaurant from the outside but the place has been there forever so figured it had to be decent. Was greeted by a personable young lady as soon as we entered, and had our drinks within two minutes. Asked her for a recommendation and as expected was told everything was good. A gentlemen at the next table told me to try one of there meat quesadilla's (said he has been coming for years and they are the best he's ever had anywhere). So of course, I went with that. The wife had the daily special (Taco, a salad and a burrito). Food was out promptly and though served on paper plates, totally blew us away. Never expected it to be so good. Servings were large, and I loved the salad that came with my quesadilla. The meat was also very fresh and very flavorful. Ended up ordering some meat to bring home for the family, and making them tacos the following night!

I returned this week with some of my friends from work and have thankfully found a "good" Mexican restaurant.

Don't waste your time or money. I don't know how anybody can think the food here is good at all. Did they bribe the critics? My fiance and I stopped here once to quell our curiosity - we should have stayed away. We ordered burritos, nachos, and a salad. Nothing was freshly cooked - it was all microwaved - and nothing had any taste to it (forget about the fact that the "salad" is just taco toppings in a bowl.) As my fiance put it, "it's like they knew all the main ingredients in the dishes, but forgot to put any spices or flavoring" Putting hot sauce on everything only made it tolerable. Heck, even my *soda* tasted weird! How do you mess up soda???

Diamond in the Rough. The Burrito Royale may not be the most attractive looking restaurante, but the quality of the establishment is paramount. Food, price, service and atmoshere cannot be beat.
