A comment from a previous posting. I have heard worst stories about hairdressers in real life than the one you have written online...the truth of the matter is, one bad haircut (on a bad client) doesnt make a hairdresser a bad hairstylist.

I have been coming to the salon for a long time ( over 10 years now and counting) and I never had a bad experience at all. I LOVE Yamaguchi Salon because they are truly gifted hairstylist & I believe in their philosophy as well. They are well known in the hair industry and are up to date with the trend. I am not discounting your experience but to say that "don't take the risk" is a little over board.

I guess your mother didn't tell you that if you don't have anything good to say, dont say anything at all. A poor conduct like this one really won't resolve anything at all.

I have the privilege of meeting Eric & have him work on my hair (whenever possible) and I admire his many talents as well as his precision haircuts. For you to say that he is a bad stylist...... I certainly DO NOT agree with you on that. It might be that you didnt like the haircut but it doesnt make him or any hairstylist a bad hairstylist. They are human being as well that can make certain mistakes but their love for the industry/servicing us is their primary goal, help them help us. Give a pat or a praise for the many other things your hairdressers have done to you rather than ripping their heads off.

Worst hair cut ever. I went in to get my hair cut the same way but shorter by Eric. He cut it shorter but it was still very bulky (I have a LOT of hair and it's curly). I went back requesting the bulk to be lightened up. He supposedly was the professional and I trusted him. He 'texturized' not 50%, not 70%, he took off about 90% of it! I was horrified. I'm embarrassed every time I walk out the door. I'm a walking advertisement of where NOT to go. I emailed and mailed a letter to the owner about the mess that I have to now deal with as it grows out. NEVER heard a word back. No apologies, nothing. DO NOT TAKE THE RISK!!

Beware of the products they sell (plastic bottles with holes...), favoritisms with customers.. I went to this hair salon for a while with a friend. She looks very White American (she is actually Canadian). I look Latina, whereas I am really Italian. Lara used to get the special attention of the owner while I was always attended by 'someone else.' Lara and I used to comment on this and we both ended up switching to another salon. This is a reflection of the owner's prejudice, not his employees. But attitudes in a business come from the top.

I also purchased hair products there. A lipshine set (the kind that comes in round plastic containers stacked up) ended up being 'old' and they did not accept the return. A hair conditioner bottle was punctured (a tiny puncture on the bottom... imperceptible) which ended up covering our bath tub with a slippery cover.

We only discovered what was doing that after we saw the conditioner bottle empty. The salon admitted that the bottle might have been punctured but did not return my money. Bad customer satisfaction policies.

I gave up on this place because they don't have accountability. A hair salon has to be an enjoyable place that offers you not only the fantasy of changing your appearence for the 'better' but also a place where you are treated with respect and dignity. Their appeal to the Japanese look of peace and equanimity inside, is not reflected in their behaviors.

Lastly, and most importantly, one of the last colors they did on me was a very interesting red. But the rinse was so poorly (rushed!!!) done that it leaked and smeared all over my jacket. Unfortunately it was white. This could have been easily avoided if they had warned me to keep a towel around my neck until I got home. Which I would have done gladly. Not only a poor job but also a complete disregard for the customer.

I got tired of giving this place a second chance.
