Cozy, friendly, clean and professional!.
Gaye is a wonderful proprietor, and an excellent hairstylist. While the salon is small, it is not crowded, and even as a male, I immediately felt right at home. You are always greeted with a smile, and Gaye goes out of her way (or it is just in her nature) to make you feel welcome, comfortable, and well-groomed when you leave. Don't go in expecting a quiet haircut with some muzak playing in the background. Gaye has the gift of gab, and a unique talent for infecting others with it. Expect engaging conversation, amusing stories, and even a bit of local gossip during your stay.
Products and extra procedures are never hard-sold, and indeed, are scarcely mentioned. They are however, prominently displayed.
While I am not a tanning bed regular, I have seen them and they are immaculately maintained and cleaned. I am not sure why the other reviewer felt that older tanning beds are somehow inferior, the UV light still does it's thing.
All around, a top-notch little hair salon for men and women, with the added bonus of being able to work on your tan before or after your cut.

Very old Equipment. Cathy's Corner has been downtown Ventura for 29 years and the beds are 20 yrs old and are basically done in....the salon is 3 beds, not ecxactly a real tanning salon by todays standards
