Place is a dive bar. Seafood could be fresher. Not sure if it was just the day but I had a stomach ache after eating there. runs for days. would not recommend food

Life Long Fan. I've been visiting since I could'nt see over the counter, and the restaurant was a driveway off 295.

Service is always friendly and knowledgeable, food always exceptional.

Love the 1/2 shell clams...so much, in fact, I visit from San Diego just to eat em!

In Reply to "seafood lover101". I work at Cap'n Cat's and was working during this incident. I remember this very clearly. The waitress waiting on this table has worked at Cap'n Cats for over fifteen years. She has never discriminated against ANYONE and half the customers who return to this retaurant come to be waited on by her. This waitress was only trying to do her best to seat a larger party in a dining room that is on the small side. As we do not have a hostess much of the time, it falls on us waitresses to seat as best we can.

This table was never "told to move to the other side of the room" the waitress asked them if they would spare the other end of their table (a table made to seat four) in order to seat the other party. This table said that was fine, but a few minutes later said it made them feel "uncomfortable". Their waitress asked how she could fix this problem and make them feel comfortable again. They responded they just wanted to leave.

This incident included many misunderstandings between individuals and the story was highly falsified and fabricated when this table explained to the manager why they were leaving.

I would just like to clear up this story and say again that this review implies discrimination occurred which is highly false. This waitress was simply trying to get everyone seated and her actions were extremely misunderstood.

As for the question of whether this incident was addressed by the manager, yes it was.

Finally, all of us at Cap'n Cat's have the utmost respect for EVERY individual we wait on, and we take pride in serving and treating everyone equally. Not just around Christmas, but every single day of the year.

Just two days before christmas!!!!!!! 2011. I was so happy to bring another family member (afro-american) to my favorite seafood spot for the holidays. when we got there he loved it too. We sat down by the fireplace and started our order, then a party of 8 came in excorted by the waitress.(we didn't get her name) She told us to move to the other side of the room to make space for the party(white). When we told her we would like to stay at the table we already starded our order. she glarded at us and began to move the condomients off the table and she moved the table from under us to acomadate the party of 8. We didn't trust her service after that and we didn't want any trouble so we asked for the check (about $125.00).

That was something we never want to happen to anyone. THANK YOU to the couple who stood up for us. Management and Owner were told. We don't know if it helped, we still feel as though we were wronged and injured by this action. Just two days before christmas. CLAMS!!!! WE DIDN'T KNOW THINGS LIKE THAT STILL HAPPEN IN AMERICA.

Rubber scallops rolled in gravel. We had a party of 8 two nights ago, and they presented 6 of us with hockey puck-like scallops that were extremely gritty. I could do nothing but spit out seafood. The clam chowder was the consistency of firm mashed potatoes in a glob, although tasted pretty good. One member of our party ordered calamari and it would have been put to use better as a rubber band. He could not eat. Seriously! This is a 'restaurant' that advertises it's self as a SEA FOOD Restaurant. We would have done better at the diner down the road. Really, how are they still in business?

good food hot girls. captain cats has awesome food and a great atmosphere. it's fun to chill there with your friends. the best part is trivia night on wednesday 9-11 woo woo woo

Best place. All of you saying the service is bad and what not stop bitchin! The manager here is the best manager you will ever meet and its run by the best family around the Lukens! The best sea food around if you dont come here then your missin out. All of you others complaining your just jealous because you couldnt run this place as well as its bein run.

great corner bar atmosphere. This is your typical corner establishment. Nothing fancy about it. The food is great. You get what you pay for. The food is always good and comes out quickly. For a Saturday night the place was packed we were pleased with our service. We have not been there for a year or so, and we forgot how reasonable the cost is to get a good seafood meal. I would definitely go back sooner rather than later. Try the chowder, very tasty. We also had an app of the clams... yumm.

Used to be good.... Many a time and many a year I've dined here, but lately I find it only so so. (I've moved on to another seafood restaurant in Westville - Sea Haggs.) Service was slow and not overly friendly. The bar maid was down right rude to the regular as I waited for a table. The decor, firer place, and take out are pluses, but the food has gone down hill. So sad to see it go...
