You don't have to be a Pelican.
We have been to Pelican Fish on SEVERAL occasions and have yet to have a bad experience. The menu is certain to please just about everybody, even the picky eater.
The atmosphere is enjoyable, and the food is delicious! The zucchini crabcakes are my favorite and if I don't order them as an entre, I certainly must have them as an appetizer.
I think the thing I enjoy most about Pelican is the way in which the chef prepares the foods. He combines them with different flavors to tease your palet and make you look forward to the next bite.
The portions are perfect. The breads are delectible, and if you have room for dessert, don't miss the opportunity.
The owner is PASSIONATE about the fish he serves and will not present anything but FRESH fish, as well as any other item.
We have also enjoyed the cooking classes that Pelican offers. The chef prepares a featured dish in front of you and provides the recipe for you to recreate in your own kitchen. He answers any questions you may have in preparing that dish and other culinary inquiries.
Risotto....excellent, Oso Buco......fantastic, Crabcakes......amazing, Pork Medallions......flavorful
Seafood Bisque.......Ahhhhhhh
Really, TRY IT, you don't have to be a Pelican but you can enjoy the fresh fish like you were!…
Disappointing Experience. First, if you know Restaurant etiquette as an owner you would not permit your waitress to have on very pugent perfume. My husband pleaded me to not call the waitress over to ask her questions that I had because he could stand perfume. Another thing that transpired and was very distasteful was when the waitress brought back our change she stated the bill was $61.73. She placed the change on the table and said the amount of change and proceeded to count saying that makes $62 dollars, and then began counting the rest out placing $1, $1, $1, makes $65; $5 makes $70; $10 makes $80; $20 makes $100. It was like we were at the local dolloar store. I have never had change counted back to me while dinning out. I guess the food was not too bad but what we experienced ruined it. Would not go back!…
Awesome seafood. We have been there 3 times since the new owners have taken over. It is our new favorite place to go, it gets really busy on weekends, make a Reservation. Sea Bass, Ahi tuna, zucchini crab cake - all delicious! Service friendly and good!…
You won't be dissapointed!. Our group of 5 tried the Pelican tonight and all left saying we would definitely be back! After a pleasant greeting by the hostess, the waiter greeted us at the table and asked if we had a bottle of wine (BYOB) that needed opening. From there, he told us of the many specials of the night and gave us sufficient time to review the extensive menu while enjoying our wine. Each of us got a different dish including: scallops, zuchinni crab cake, salmon with lump crab meat (my choice & excellent), fresh fish of the day, and crab imperial. The fresh fish was all touched with a nice olive oil flavoring. A nicely prepared salad and fresh bread with herbed olive oil were also served with dinner. Only two went for the chef made desserts but both the New York cheesecake and creme brulee were excellent. This is a must try restaurant. I am sure if you try it you will be back just as we will be!…
Made a regular out of me.. Pelican has made a regular out of me. My wife and I are forever hooked by the most awesome fish and steak dinners we ever had. My wife had the black bass special (which she stingily shared) It was fresh and flavorful - it just melted in our mouths! I had the filet gorgonzola which was tender and grilled to perfection. The great food and great service has made regulars out of us. We're going back next week with family and I bought a gift certificate for friends! Definitely make reservations for the weekend. The place fills up quick!…
